Earth At Last Part 1

Earth at Last

Part 1

Two vipers cut through the vacuum of space, moving towards a single solar system. It had several planets, an asteroid belt in the middle and one sun.

“Hey, Starbuck, do you read any signs of life from any planet?” Apollo asked, having looked at his scanner. It showed the planets, but nothing else.

“If there is life, they are jamming us really good,” Starbuck replied back to him.

Apollo looked back down, not seeing any evidence of jamming. Moving on they approached the first large planet in the system. A large blue planet with several moons, a slight disk that many large planets had. It actually looked quite pretty, if you did not think about the fact the planet was deadly to human life. The group exited the limo and made their way into the building. It was a massive building and they all knew it housed the government of Earth. Starbuck and Terrance were impressed with the size of the building, the massive pillars adorning either side. It was unlike anything they had ever seen before.

Senator Mitchell walked behind his guests taking in their reactions. He knew the building had been designed to be impressive. He wondered how the architect would react knowing his vision had been achieved. The design took a bit of the old White House while adding bits of cultures from all over the world.

He looked over as the President got out of his limo along with the one of the other council member from their visitors. Mitchell waved Rachel, his aide, over and told the group to follow her. He made his way over to where the President stood, wanting to give him the information he heard while on the way over.

He watched the councilman go on ahead and moved forward.

“Don’t like that man,’ Steven Hillard said to Mitchell. Continue reading…

Commander Tigh made his way to the council room where he expected to final all twelve members. He was bringing them news that the government of earth wanted to meet with them in order to officially establish communications between the two groups. He had the feeling that Ziers would want to go, and hoped Terrance would go as well to counter the ambitious councilman. Tigh had understood they had gotten the best of Ziers once, but the next one would not be as easy. He was politically cunning.

The council room was quiet when he walked in, making him wonder what they had been talking about. He made his way to the front as every waited to hear what he had to say. “The Earth government asked to meet with a couple of you from the council, they hope to begin formal communications.”

“How many are they expecting?” one member, Issac asked. Continue reading…

Part 7

Commander Tigh watched the Cylon basestars in front of him now number four. He knew there were at least two behind him. Six basestars against two battlestars. The odds were not good in their favor anymore. He quickly ordered the Pegasus to the rear instead of fighting the four in front of them.

He gave the order to the captains of the fleet to head towards system, and he hoped that whatever military Earth had would protect them. The battlestars would delay the Cylons as much as possible.

The viper pilots were fighting well, and despite the latest reinforcements from the basestars they were holding their won quite well. However, with the addition of the new raiders there were no additional vipers free to attack the basestars. Continue reading…

Admiral Percy White waited patiently for the return call from Earth for his orders regarding the capture Pegasus. They had a human fleet of several hundred ships outside the system. He went through everything that the President might order, and could not come up with anything that might help out the situation. Then he had the situation of the Cylons. The group had already attacked on station, and according to Apollo, they would attack again without warning. He warned him to shoot first. The communications came to live showing the President’s face, he had not been expecting him.

“Mr. President,” Percy said.

“Thought I’d let you know what’s been somewhat decided down here,” Steven said. “There is no official word from congress yet, still have to inform them in the morning. But use your discretion, see if we can get a meeting with their leaders. Do what you feel is right, I’ll back up you any way I can.” Continue reading…

“Yes, Earth,” Starbuck replied to Apollo’s echo.

“Are you saying that these people are from Earth?” Apollo asked, looking at Starbuck then back at Percy and finally back to the screen. He felt shocked by the sudden turn in the conversation.

“Yep, don’t’ believe me ask them yourself,” Starbuck stated.

Apollo turned to Percy standing next to the screen. “Is this true? Are you from Earth?” Apollo asked, waiting for the reply.

“Um, yeah, we call our planet Earth, is that a problem?” Percy asked back now confused. Continue reading…

Part 4

“Cylons?” Percy repeated, unsure about this. Was this another race, or some sort of group that Apollo knew? However, judging by Apollo’s expression the news was not good.

“Are you sure about this picture?” Apollo asked him, as he held the tablet.

“Yes, it was taken by the security camera shortly before the station was destroyed. We managed to find the image in the wreckage and assumed it was yours, possibly a bomber that you use?” Percy said again thinking logically. He recalled not seeing anything that fit the image in the hangar he had been in.

“Then I must warn my people, they are in great danger,” Apollo stated. The tone of the man in front of him was determination, and, fear? What did he had to fear? He sensed a story here.

Percy thought about allowing him to contact his fleet. Of course, he probably already was in contact with his fleet. He also wanted to know more about this group, Cylons. Continue reading…

“Commander Apollo, what do you think you’re doing? You do not have the permission of the council, you realize that?” Ziers roared at Apollo.

“Commander Tigh, we’ve got a serious situation here,” Apollo said, ignoring what Ziers said, knowing that the commander would be off screen. He continued before Ziers could say anything else. “It seems that we are now surrounding by a fleet of warships, I don’t recommend fighting out way out.”

“You never would have been in such a situation had you followed the council’s wishes,” Ziers stated, anger in his voice.

“There was no time to consult the council, and wait as they debated for centons about what to do,’ Apollo replied. “And councilman, which would you rather have, the Pegasus in this situation or the entire fleet in this situation as we waited for your decision on what to do.” Continue reading…

Part 2

“Commander, I heard we had a new contact,” a familiar voice said, causing Tigh to sigh, knowing who the voice belonged to. He turned to see Marcus, a council member, walking onto the bridge.

“That’s correct, Captain Starbuck and his wingman are checking it out right now. Commander Apollo has taken the Pegasus out for a better look,” Tigh replied back to know, knowing what the reply would be.

“And who approved this action?” Marcus asked, his tone accusing.

“I did, there was not time to notify the council and have a debate,” Tigh replied back, they both knew the truth about such actions. The council had been flexing their power at every change, increasing what needed to be approved by the military. Continue reading…

Part 1

Commander Tigh’s Log:

“It’s been several yahrens since our last encounter with the Cylons. I fear they are still somewhere behind us, looking for us, chasing us. I don’t think they have stopped despite seeing no contact with them for so long.

“It is difficult to constantly argue that they might be right behind us. The longer we go without contact the more the call to settle down becomes. The Council hounds me with questions, and while I rejoice being free from the Cylons, like Commander Adama, I fear their return.

“I can only hope we are united with Earth soon. I fear it’s our only hope for survival.”

Tigh paused in his musings to think about the past bit. He had a feeling he would never know of the planet Earth, like Adama. He had passed away two yehrens ago, and three yehrens after he retired. Continue reading…
