Part 2

Ray watched as Captain Picard, Q, Riker, Data, Worf, and Councilor Troy walked into the briefing room and took their seats. Captain Picard took the head seat, and Q sat opposite of him.

“I take it by the conversation there is trouble with the Borg,” Riker said, sitting down next to Picard.

“Yes Will, but we are the only ship with the experience to deal with them,” Picard replied. “Starfleet can’t deal with a war on two fronts, against both the Jem’Hadar and the Borg.”

“So why are we headed to Earth, and why are you on our ship?’ Worf said, looking right at Q, his dislike of the man evident in his gaze.

“We are headed to Earth because of this impotent mortal, who thinks there is something that I, Q, am not ready for,” Q said, looking right over at Ray. Continue reading…

Part1

The enemy surrounded him. He was injured, and every man in his recon team lost. Gripping his weapon tighter, he dove into the bushes for cover. His ammo supply low, and he had already thrown all of his daggers, except one. Now he gripped that dagger in his left hand, hoping he had not lost too much blood. He wanted to finish this fight.

He could count on no reinforcements coming to relieve him. His commanders knew the possibility of this outcome. They would review the battle, and look for adjustments in tactics, and sent out another group. He calmed himself, knowing that panic would not help him. The simple recon mission of the enemy base turned to disaster. They were to probe the base for any weaknesses for a planned attack on the base. The commanders needed the information to know how many soldiers they would need to attack it. Continue reading…

“What?” Adama asked, a bit surprised by the question. Arkis had said he wanted to go on the offensive, something Adama wanted to do, but felt shocked at the question anyways.

“I would like to start conducting offensive campaigns against the Cylons as soon as possible. We have the m off balance, the last thing we need is for them to get comfortable.”

“We fought them for a thousand yehrans, and lost the war, you want to just go and strike them?” Adama asked, looking down at the screen.

“Commander Adama,” Arkis said politely, taking a moment to formulate his words carefully. “With all due respect, I think there is something you should know about us, something important.” Continue reading…

Part 8

“Well, what do you think?” Apollo asked, looking over at Starbuck. They had returned to the shuttle and heading over to the Rising Star due to damage to the Galactica. The other reason being most of the council members had gone there instead of the Galactica, again because of damage.

“Not sure, they appear highly advanced, but the government seems almost primitive,” Starbuck said, thinking about the question a bit. “I do think they would make great allies, what about you Boomer?”

“I don’t know, they seem genuine,” Boomer replied.

“If they have the military they say they do, they might just be able to protect us for a while,” Adama said, speaking up.

“What did you see while you were with them?” Starbuck asked. Continue reading…

Part 7

The wounded Galactica slowly made its way back to the planet called Earth. It suffered quite a bit of damage in the battle, but had survived. The crew had finally gotten the fired under control, but that took quite a bit of effort and time. The lack of a full repair team had hampered the effort. Despite the problems Adama felt proud of the crew and their efforts. Their entire attitude changed when the hope of survival became apparent. They rushed to repair systems, and fight fires.

The vipers that survived were taken aboard the other ships due to damage incurred on the landing bays. It would take some time before the landing bays were operational again.

“Omega, how many ships did we lost?” Adama asked, wondering if that information had been reported yet..

“Don’t know about vipers, but the reports are we lost sixteen ships of the fleet,” Omega replied. Continue reading…

“Commander Adama, incoming fighters from in front of the fleeing ships,” one of the operators said, catching Adama’s attention.

“More Cylon raiders?” Adama asked quietly before turning to Omega. “Damage report on the basestar?”

“Scanners indicate heavy damage sir,” Omega replied. “Our fighters are going to be caught between two groups of enemy fighters.”

“Give a warning to those who remain, that’s about all we can do,” Adama said, feeling the Galactica rock under another hit.

“Commander, we have ships approaching from the front and rear quadrants,” Omega said, causing him refocus his attention back to the scanners. Continue reading…

Part 5

The commander paced back and forth on the bridge, impatiently waiting for the test results. A smaller man sitting in a chair watched him pace back and forth.

“Be patient my friend,” the leader said.

“I know my lord, but it’s hard,” the commander said, sitting down on a chair across from him. “It’s just I don’t think we can afford to be wrong about this, too much is at stake.”

His companion studied him for several seconds before saying anything. “I know my friend, we won’t fail our masters again. We did so once before.”

They both turned watching an aide walk into the room. He walked up handing the paper to the lord who quickly read through it before dismissing the aide. Continue reading…

Part 4

“No, I’m not leaving,” a loud voice said, heard several quarters away. “I don’t care what you saw, I’m staying!”

Two officers walking by stopped, startled by the loud voices, but not surprised by it either. They looked at each other, and with a grim nod they knew what the argument was about. It was the same all over the Galactica ever since the commander made his announcement to split up the fleet. People were reluctant to leave their loved one.

Inside the quarters, Cassiopeia was determined to give Starbuck a piece of her mind. It had taken her a long time to get him to open up, and even commit to sealing with her. And now, with their daughter, he was telling her this.

“I can’t believe you want us to leave, doesn’t my opinion mean anything to you?” she asked.

“Now Cass, come on, you know…” Continue reading…

Part 3

Starbuck and boomer touched down close to the spot that Apollo had been kidnapped. They hoped to gain a trail of where they had taken their friend. Starbuck glanced around the area, looking up and down the street.

“We were about here when they attacked us,” Starbuck said, looking around. “You know Boomer, now that I think about it, those two who were after me, they seemed to only be delaying me. They could have easily blocked me from going for my blaster.”

“A distraction?” Boomer asked, causing Starbuck to wonder about that.

“That’s entirely possible,” Starbuck replied, thinking about the situation for a few seconds. Continue reading…

Part 2

Starbuck walked back to his quarters, where his wife, Cassiopeia and his four month old daughter, Alieva, were waiting. In a way, he felt relieved that he did not have to tell Boxey that Apollo was missing. Commander Adama said he would do that, something he felt he had to do. Opening the door he walked in, seeing Cassiopeia sitting by the baby bed.

“You look down,” Cassiopeia said.

“The last patrol didn’t go well,” Starbuck said, going over the patrol with her. “I feel that I should have been able to do something. I allowed myself to be distracted and they were able to grab Apollo as a result.

“Starbuck?” Cassie said, causing Starbuck to look up.

“Hmm?” he asked, seeing the serious look on her face. Continue reading…
