Chapter 2

Meia climbed into her bed ready to rest. Her punishment for allowing the Alliance ship to escape had been more than she expected. Admiral Jezic had been furious that the ship had been allowed to escape. The ten lashes from the electro-whip didn’t cause any physical damage to a person but pain was real. The electro-whip had been developed some one hundred and fifty years ago for punishments that didn’t require a doctor to help heal. The person felt the pain yet could go back to work the next day.

Meia reviewed the battle in her head to see what she could’ve done differently. She incorrectly assumed the Alliance ship would fight, not run. Next time she’s allow the ship to get closer than target the engines.

Placing her head on the pillow she felt the small music box. Pulling the box out she opened the lid causing the music to begin playing once more. Looking inside the lid she looked at her mother’s picture. Beside her mother stood a man, his arm around her shoulders. She never told her who the man was, but a younger Meia believed the man to be her father. His blue eyes held a gentleness and warmth that she wanted from a father. Continue reading…

Chapter 1

Randy stood in his normal spot on the bridge of the Akagi. He felt nervous at the current mission. His first as commander of a battle-cruiser. Everyone now looked at him for command decisions. He had done solar flare missions before as a second in command, but now he had his own ship and crew. Looking over he noticed a friend, Lieutenant John Reed, walking towards him.
“Yo captain, what’s up,” John asked.
“A mission. Seems a solar flare’s cut communications with Corrius,” Randy replied to him.
“Same old same old, huh,” John replied. “All right, you might need some of my pilots for relays. I’ll get the guys and gals together.” Continue reading…

Cain knew his daughter was alive, but it still felt good to actually see her. She would be coming over, flying the shuttle with Apollo. The name had caused Cain to pause, recalling what he heard earlier. It seemed the two were close, and as a father he wanted to know. However, he found himself more comfortable with discussing Cylons in front of a group of hostile politicians than asking his own daughter about her love life.

“I guess I’ll see you soon daddy,” Sheba said. “We have to get down to the hangar to prep the shuttle.”

“All right,” Cain said, seeing Calvin pause by the scanner. The movement caused him to look over. Continue reading…

Tigh sat in the command chair, Adama had gone off to his office to prepare for the arrival of Commander Tagget. The buzz of excitement swept over the ship, and he knew people were talking about it. He heard it even had started to spread to the other ships. He would do nothing to prevent that. The news would raise moral in the fleet, something they needed desperately.

With the almost jubilant atmosphere, he felt himself relaxing a bit as well. Things were looking up for the first time in a yahren. He had not felt such an atmosphere since the Pegasus had joined up with the fleet. Of course there was the brief excitement of defeating the basestar, the last time they had encountered the Cylons.

“Colonel!” Omega’s voice said, very sharp, and worried.

“Go ahead,” Tigh said. Continue reading…

Tagget made his way across the bridge, looking down at the scanners. The vipers were at the edge of their range, and about to enter the system. He hoped to find some food at the planet, their supplies were running low. He glanced over at Zaga, who stood with him.

“Orion sent a report,” Zaga finally said, by the tone Tagget knew it was not good. “Seems as if things are getting a bit unruly on board.”

Tagget sighed, knowing such things would happen, and seemed to be doing so more frequently. With supplies short, especially food, tempers flared. He expected it to happen, but still had no idea how to handle it.

“How is Orion handling it?” Tagget asked. Continue reading…

Cain limped his way across the bridge, having been summoned there by Tolan. The colonel requested his presence right away. The blonde-haired man stood at the scanner looking at something. Cain stood next to him, looking down at the scanner, seeing something he only hoped to see once more.

“We picked them up a few minutes ago, we’ll be in their scanner range in a few microns,” Tolan said.

“Excellent, open communications with them when they close in for a closer look, have them land in bay alpha, and then have the pilots report to my ready room” Cain said.

“Of course,” Tolan said, as Cain limped his way off the bridge again. Continue reading…

Marlene glanced around noticing the increase in troopers in the capital. Everywhere she went people were talking around the latest rumors. The latest included a group of Jedi who were helping the Queen who was speaking out against the Emperor. It came as no surprise when Republic troops landed on Naboo. Many here considered their former Senator, and now Chancellor a traitor to the freedom of the Republic.

She and her sister were making their way from a friend’s house, trying not to be out too late. The feeling that violence could erupt at any moment hung in the air. Noises erupted from in front of them as landing craft descended from the sky.

Naboo was under invasion by Republic forces. She noticed a few others running to the nearest house to get indoors. She and her sister moved to the shadows to hide, get away from any of the fighting. Continue reading…

Luke rushed the one of the droids knowing he would have to finish it off quickly before it could harm anyone. He had no idea what setting it was on, or how tough of a fight he was in for. His green blade engaged the blue blade.

After a few counters he knew what the setting was, and his fight would not be over before the other droid could reach the others. He quickly doubled his efforts before powering through the defenses of the droid. Turning to engage the other droid he stopped in shock at what he saw.

Facing off against the other droid he saw Eloria dueling with a yellow lightsaber. She had taken off her cloak showing comfortable clothing which allowed for maximum movement in a fight. Even as he watched she powered through the droid’s defenses, slicing it in half before standing there taken in the rest of the room. Continue reading…

Part 1

The shuttle bucked slightly heading through the atmosphere of Yavin IV. On board the shuttle several new students headed towards the Jedi Academy to train on how to control and use the Force. Jedi Master Luke Skywalker called for Force sensitive people from all over to come to the Academy. The New Republic wanted a new generation of Jedi Knight to help keep the peace.

On board the shuttle Marline sat beside her daughter, Karen. She was thirteen years old and both she and her lover, Eloria, knew Karen was Force sensitive. They tried their best to hide that fact early on under the rule of the Empire. However, with the fall of the Emperor things had changed within the Republic. So much changed.

“What’s with mother?” Karen asked, her question bringing Marlene out of her thoughts of the past. She looked over at Eloria, who Karen called mother, and noticed the lines of her lover being deep in thought. Continue reading…

Part 3

Ray let his statement hang in the stunned silence in the room. He knew anyone from Earth heard of the ancient tales of Atlantis, and most probably considered it a myth, fable or legend that a fool would look for. He saw Riker with a look of disbelief, and Picard, though skeptical, appeared to want proof. To Ray’s surprise, Data spoke up first, probably unfazed by the comment, and waited for his logical question.

“You are aware, that despite every effort to validate such a claim, Atlantis does not exist,” Data pointed out. “There are no records on Earth of such a civilization, nor are there any recorded records of Earth being space-faring at that time.”

“Yes, I am aware of that,” Ray replied. “Its like that because we destroyed the artifacts, and historical records. It was a main reason for the fire in the Library of Alexandria, something that we argued about for years.” Continue reading…
