The Cimalian Princess: Invasion

Chapter 12

Randy wandered onto the bridge of the Akagi. They’d been in hyperspace for almost an hour now and were more than halfway though the flight.

“Any word from the advanced scout,” Randy asked.

“Nothing yet from the Dragon,” Kim replied.

Randy nodded his head. Communications from HQ would be hard to maintain as the distance increased, but he’d be able to get information from the Dragon easier.

“We’re getting a call from HQ,” Hans said. Continue reading…

Chapter 11

Jezic walked into his office to receive an important communications from the government on Cimalius. He closed his door then activated the security procedures and waited for the computer to recognize him. Seconds later the screen activated showing a man with blonde hair and blue eyes.

“Admiral, how’s the offensive going?” the man asked.

“The 3rd CF had a slight setback on Pacifica but things shall be righted soon,” Jezic replied with proper respect.

“Good, I don’t wish any more failures but a contention of trouble might have appeared,” the man said.

“Trouble, I don’t understand,” Jezic said. He didn’t know of anything new that might confront their forces. Continue reading…

Chapter 10

Randy walked out of the briefing room after talking too many of the new pilots. The squadrons seemed to be at full strength but many new pilots hadn’t seen much in flight training. He hoped that John and the others would help train them more.
“Randy, can I talk to you for a sec,” John asked quietly so no else could hear them.
“Yeah,” Randy replied. He didn’t understand why John whispered the question. He figured he’d find out real soon.
“Look, I know it’s none of my business but I have to ask for everyone here. Is there something else going on between you and her,” John asked. Continue reading…

Chapter 9

The battle-cruisers Warspite and Enterprise arrived from the Reserve Fleet joining up with the Akagi and Bismarck. These four ships would form the backbone of the Strike Fleet. On board the new flagship, Akagi, newly promoted Rear-Admiral Randy White watched his crew work. He hoped that he’d do as good a job as others thought he could. Nothing new had changed in the last couple of hours leaving him plenty of time to think about Meia.
“Captain, I mean Admiral,” Han said. Randy understood the slip in rank, he still had to get used to it as well. He glanced over to see what Hans wanted. “Doctor Leaver says Meia is awake again.”
“All right, be right there,” Randy replied. He turned walking off the bridge quickly making his way down to the med lab. He’d been thinking of his plan. The Alliance needed information and Meia seemed to be the best way to get it. He hoped that by using truth and gaining her trust he could gain some information. Continue reading…

Chapter 8

Randy walked back into the med lab once more. He seemed to be brought back to the mysterious blue haired woman. The doctor walked over to where Randy stood near the woman.
“I see you’re back,” Tommy said.
“There’s something here that I’m missing doc. She’s human, yet her clothing, the ships they’re using are all indications of something more than pirates,” Randy said.
“Another mystery, I found an unusual drug in her system. It took a while for the computer to analyze it but it came back as a form of mind control drug,” Tommy replied.
“Mind control, why’d that be used,” Randy questioned what the doctor had told him. Continue reading…

Chapter 7

Meia rubbed her eyes in disbelief at what she saw. She stood in a room and recognized the table right away. A few chairs lined each side of the table in a room decorated in simple tan colors. The doorway led to a small kitchen. From where she stood she saw a pot cooking on the stove. She closed her eyes then opened them again hoping to be somewhere else but she still stood in the small eating area of her childhood home.
“Little one, clean up, dinner’s almost ready,” she heard her mother’s voice say. A woman about her height, strawberry-blonde hair and green eyes stood there looking at Meia.
“Momma?”
“And who else is there here,” her mother replied looking at Meia. “Now hurry up or the food’ll get cold.” Continue reading…

Chapter 6

Doctor Tommy Leaver glanced once more at the patient, a female who appeared to around twenty-five years old. The uniform she had on he had never seen before. Sure it looked like a pilot’s uniform but he hadn’t seen one like it on the Akagi before. Of course what really caught his attention was the fact the woman had blue hair.
She had what appeared to be sever trauma to her head and chest. He had quickly ordered scans of the woman’s chest and head. The head mechanic, Ben, mentioned that the woman might be from the enemy fighter that crashed near the hangar.
Tommy didn’t care about that. He had sworn to protect life and this woman’s would be no different. He patched up another non-critical patient while waiting on the scans to return. Two other patients were critical as well as the woman. One he feared wouldn’t survive. Continue reading…

Chapter 5

Meia ran a finger over the smooth wooden lid of the music box. Looking around her sparse quarters things seemed a bit empty to her. She had gone over the plan with the other pilots making sure they all understood their assignments. She didn’t need some fool blowing everything because they didn’t know. She also had talked with the flight leader of the battle-cruiser Oi making sure that neither ship’s fighters would be attacking the same target.
The flight leader of the Oi was also a green haired pilot, but a better disposition than Olin. Meia figured that had to do with the class of the pilot. Olin was a Beta while the Oi leader was a Delta. He wanted success over class.
Olin however seemed to want her job. She knew that the man bullied the maintenance crew. Poor Hecus had to put up with the man as much as she did. She wondered what the punishment would be if Hecus decided to throw the man out an airlock. The maintenance crew did an important job that Olin still had to learn. If their fighters were not operating then it could mean death in a fight. Continue reading…

Chapter 4

John walked down to his fighter. Pam, his longtime wingmate, walked beside him.
“So, combat patrol, right?” she half-asked, half-said.
“Yeah, I’m not exactly sure what’s going on but there’s definitely something happening,” John replied.
“Well,” she said giving him a bump with her hip. “Watch yourself otherwise I’ll be mad at you.”
“I will,” John answered.
“I know how you fly,” Pam replied.
He glanced down into brown eyes looking back up at him. Continue reading…

Chapter 3

Randy felt the shuttle land on the platform of the base headquarters. Quickly exiting the shuttle he looked around noticing a young lieutenant nearby. Walking over to the man Randy waited to see what would happen next.
“Captain White, I’m Lieutenant Chad Opal. I’m sorry to say that the admiral is currently busy,” Chad told Randy.
“Lieutenant, not to be rude but do you know where the admiral is? I’ve got some very important news for him,” Randy told him. He had no idea what would’ve taken his father away from his unexpected visit.
“With all due respect captain, the admiral is with several people of the government,” Chad told him. “The last time they were here they cut wages and several bases. I just hope the same thing doesn’t happen this time.”
Randy stopped at what he had heard. The government had decided it was time again to cut spending. “Then they’ve got the worst timing ever.” Continue reading…
