Fortunatus Light of Dark – Part 12

Part 12

Tess made her way back to where the army waited seeing Lisa and Becca waiting. They both made their way over to her the moment they saw her. Even others in the army looked anxious, ready to move out.

“What’s going on Empress?” Lisa asked, beating Becca to the question.

“Assemble all captains at once, and I hope everyone’s ready to do some fast marching,” Tess said. She knew they had a lot of work to so and some heavy marching to do before the day was over. She wanted to be in a defensive position as soon as possible.

Tess watched as they both looked at her for a second, then went and carried out her orders. They understood when she had a certain look in her eye to not question her orders. She would be asking a lot from her army and soldiers but had confidence about them handling the task. Continue reading…

Tess paced back and forth on the transport in the small area, as a few people watched her. Gallic seemed to be looking more at Lisa, and the few women guards, than anything else. She had the feeling that if Lisa suddenly stripped he would be trying to take a picture or something of her. Lisa, for her part, had ignored the Segic quite well, at least better than Tess would have.

“Are you going to sit down?” Lisa finally said, as Tess paced in another circle.

“No,” Tess finally replied, looking out the window once more seeing, finally, the looming buildings of the 2nd army HQ. She sat down for the landing ignoring the looks she got from both Lisa and Gallic this time. Continue reading…

Tess returned her wand to its sheath as the Grunt army surrendered to her. She motioned for her troops to capture those still alive, as medics came out onto the field to try and help those that they could. The battle had gone a bit better than she hoped. They attacked from two different directions, catching the Grunt army completely off guard. The fact they had only finished marching back from Grunt territory only tired them out. Tess had fresh troops with her.

“Well, glad to see that worked,” Russell said, walking up beside Tess.

“It did work,” Tess said, seeing Lisa walk towards her, probably for new orders.

“What are your orders Empress?” she asked. Continue reading…

Ami made her way over to a small patch of trees that would provide cover from the sun. They had heard nothing about how the battle went so far. Of course the main army had only left two days ago. Janice thought they were at Navatown by now and the battle was probably underway.

Ami sat down on a fallen tree, before taking a bit of her food. She ate in silence, as it seemed the preferred way for Janice. The older woman had been pleasant company despite being quiet. Ami had learned a little bit about her but did not push.

She was fiercely loyal to the Empress who had been loyal to her. Ami had discovered a common theme about the Empress that she liked. If you were loyal to her she was loyal back. She had the feeling that most in the Royal Guard were like Janice, highly loyal to the Empress. Continue reading…

Ami stepped out of her tent seeing the increase of activity going on. She quickly found Janice standing nearby, calmly looking at it all.

“What’s going on?” Ami asked, stepping aside as a cart went flying past.

“The army is assembling, they are moving out,” Janice said.

“Oh, that’s good news right?” Ami replied.

“Yes, and no,” Janice replied to her causing Ami to frown. “General Russell received word that the attack went as planned. The town the empress attacked had almost no defenders and we received word that the scouts noticed an increase in activity early this morning from the main group, they are moving towards the Empress. She now has the hard mission of returning home.” Continue reading…

Tess walked into the office quickly finding Russell studying a map at the table. He glanced up and offered her a smile, obviously glad to see her. Usually her generals disliked seeing her.

“Ah, Empress, welcome,” he said with a bow. He stood as tall as Becca, but had blue eyes and his hair had gone white some time ago. Tess noticed he still had his neatly trimmed beard, white like his hair.

“General, any change in the situation,” Tess asked, hoping that perhaps something had changed for the better, like the Grunts had realized their folly and retreated.

“Nothing, they are blocking communications at the moment,” Russell said. Tess felt no surprise, she would do the same thing. Prevent your enemy from gaining any information and you held a slight advantage. Continue reading…

Part 6

Tess made her way to the mess hall. She had taken a bath, which the twins prepared, before donning her armor for her morning workouts with the troops. She looked forward to that as a way to keep her skills up. They also used such time to try new magical techniques, some worked most did not. She knew to keep a good mix of different elements of magic in the same squad. If she only put ice magic in one group then a smaller group of earth mages could eliminate them. A lesson she had learned early on. Each of the four elements had another element which it was strong against and one it was weak against.

When she learned that lesson, she put together groups depending on the enemies’ strength and weaknesses. More than one would group their soldiers together according to magic allowing her an easy victory.

“Empress, I’m so glad I caught you here,” Lycos said walking up to her. Tess frowned but waited patiently for what he had to say. “The Soulviers are asking to meet with you now. I think they wish to head back today.” Continue reading…

Part 5

Ami smoothed the fabric of her dress nervously. Both sides were left open with a gold hoop keeping the front and back together at the waist. It had a deep V down the front and back and the dress, came to mid-thigh, and a deep blue color.

She learned that she would be eating in the main hall with Tess and some guests. That thought caused her mind to race with all sorts of possibilities, such as her ending up as the entertainment for the evening. She felt unsure if she was ready to take on such a role. True she had gotten used to being nude in front of the Empress, and the twins, but others she felt unsure about.

Helen escorted her down to a large main hall, after being dressed up by the twins. Inside the room the Empress sat at the head of the table, along with several others she had never seen before. One she recognized from the training grounds and another, the head mage. The others in the room were not human. Continue reading…

Chapter 4

Ami felt herself settling in over the next couple of days, or at least the best she could do considering the situation. She discovered the library one day, and started reading everything she could. She asked questions to Kira about some of the stories, as she would be more apt to answer such questions. Kari seemed stricter and less receptive to the fact Ami had come from ‘that’ place as they put it.

Ami’s day usually started late, with the usually Empress gone. Breakfast and a bath, then she was on her own until before dinner. Sometime before dinner time the Empress would send for her. Usually they shared dinner, unless Tess was in some meeting, then Kira or Kari would bring her something to eat. The night usually meant in the Empress’ bedchamber where she would stay for the rest of the night. Continue reading…

Chapter 3

Tess looked over to the window, seeing the glow of the morning sun entering the room. She glanced down at the top of Ami’s blonde head, the girl appeared fast asleep. A slight smile came to her lips as she recalled the previous evening’s activities. The girl had been submissive but also as responsive as Tess expected her to be. Tess went for simple sex, not bondage or toys, which Tess knew they would use later on. Last night had been all about learning Ami’s body, which had been very sensitive despite her obvious inexperience.

Tess ran a hand through the silky long blonde hair recalling last night’s activities, and the cute squeaks and moans that came from the girl. Tess sighed, looking back at the window realizing that she had to get up soon. If she did not, Lycos might start knocking on the door trying to get her up and back on schedule. She had gotten mad at him more than once and to his credit, he feared her, yet knew as long as he did his job, she would overlook such trivial things. Tess had no desire to train another person to put up with her like he did. Continue reading…
