Part 7: The Alliance

Ares walked along the bridge of the Argo as he watched the crew go about their normal routines. So far the news from home had indicated that the encounter with the Cylons that they had interfered with a major offensive by the Cylons. The Battlestar Prometheus had been destroyed but the warriors had inflicted heavy damage on the Cylons.

Ares figured that the Cylon force that they had destroyed was probably part of that offensive push. It had been beaten back and now thing back at the Colonies had settled down a bit. He briefly wondered what would have happened had the Argo been part of the battle fleet and not encountered the Cylon forces. Would one battlestar make a difference in the fight? Part 6: Ghost Ship

Troy made his way down the hallway towards the pilot’s ready room, knowing that was where many of the pilots spent their off duty time. He noticed Nall and Bri in the room and wondered if he would be welcome there. Bri still had yet to calm down. Nall was right when he said she could be mad but had yet to see her calm down. Nall kept urging patience with Bri.

Nall motioned him over to which he tentatively walked over. Bri avoided eye contact with him which he had expected.

“Nall, Bri,” Troy said as he sat down at the table and ordered a drink, seeing Bri ignore him again. Continue reading…

Part 5: Goodbye Friend

Martin and Nall sat at the table, as others waiting for the patrol to return. They talked about the Colonies and what they would miss and what they would not miss while they were on this mission. There was also a group of odds on a far board as to if they would ever find Earth and when. So far most people figured that they would never find Earth. The odds just seemed too great for people to believe.

“What will you miss,” Nall asked Martin.

“Jesse,” Martin replied referring to previous girlfriend. Nall shook his head in disbelief.

“Martin, she dumped you ten boyfriends ago,” Nall said. “She goes through them faster than I do girlfriends.” Continue reading…

Part 4:  Ambush Squared

Bri made her way down the corridor to the computer room, she had a bit of free time before her next patrol. There she could read about the latest news from the Colonies sent to the Argo by a few people who know of their mission. It helped to receive such news. The last news she heard, the Delphians had gone to war against the Cylons. That would help out the colonies as it might split the Cylon forces and allow the Colonies to rebuild the fleet a bit. She read of a rumor that the Battlestar Pegasus was going to be the center of a new battle fleet. That would be exciting, especially if they were led by Commander Cain.

Entering the room she noticed that Troy already in the room reading something on his screen. She took a seat next to him hoping he would notice her. When he did not, she felt a bit deflated before wondering what had his attention. Continue reading…

Part 3: Beginning the Search

The battlestar Argo made its way towards a single system. The scanners indicated nothing out of the ordinary about the system. On the bridge of the battlestar, Commander Ares stood watching the rest of the crew going about their duties. What they did here would give him an indication of how they would act at other systems, setting up procedures they might use later on.

“Scans are clean commander, not picking up anything at all,” Pratt said, walking over to where Ares stood.

“I see,” Ares replied, sitting down in the command chair, quickly thinking about what they might do next. “Might be a good idea to launch a patrol, have them scan the planet for any signs of intelligent life, or ruins.” Continue reading…

Part 2: Legend’s Beginning

Ares glanced out the viewport on the bridge for the hundredth time. So far all he saw, pitch blackness, not even a star. He could do little except head straight though it hoping to come out at the other end.

Troy had been excited upon hearing such an area of space from the patrols. He mentioned something about having to go through it to reach Kobal. The Ancient homeworld of the Thirteen Tribes. By going through the darkness they would see a light which would lead them to Kobal. Ares felt skeptical, but he would follow Troy’s advice at the moment. Perhaps if they found Kobal, they might get an idea of where to find Earth.

Glancing our once more at the darkness he wondered exactly what created such an area of space. His scanner showed nothing as well, which disturbed him. He had no idea if they were even working anymore. Continue reading…

Part 1:  The Mission

Colonel Ares made his way down the hallway towards the commander’s office. Commander Backus summoned not long ago, and Ares silently hoped he was not going for a mental evaluation. Backus was a tough man, required you to do your job, and in a way reminded Ares of his first squadron leader, Cain. Ares had only been the colonel of the battlestar Pacifica for a few sectars now.

The news of the death of Rikki hit him hard. The one person he had loved, now all he had was regrets of what he had not done. She had discussed marriage the last time they talked, and he had still felt not ready. Now, with the Cylon attack on the outpost and her death, they would never get that chance. Continue reading…

Part 15 (Conclusion)

Ami looked around the town. It was small and no one was in the town anymore. The villagers had been evacuated before she arrived, probably due to the fact of Gregory’s invasion. She felt a bit awkward standing in the group without a speck of magical power, like the others in the group.

At least one had given her a dirty look because they had learned she was a Zero-Mage. She kept close to Tess, the one place she felt safe.

“Scouts say something is headed this way?” someone said, causing Tess to look over.

“Which is it, the enemy or the creature,” Tess replied. Continue reading…

Part 14

Ami continued to walk on, not sure where she might be going only that she hoped to find someone who might help her. She avoided any sounds of fighting, not wanting to be tangled up in any combat. She continued onward reaching the slope of the hill and starting to climb upwards.

Rustling of the bushes ahead caught her attention. She quickly moved to the side, falling into a small hole in the ground. She gathered herself back together after the fall, brushing dust and dirt off her before gingerly standing, relieved at no pain.

She looked around seeing that she had fallen into some sort of hallway that lit up the moment she entered it. She glanced up at the opening seeing that she would not be climbing out without assistance. Sighing to herself she plodded along down the corridor hoping to find an exit. Continue reading…

Part 13

Ami made her way down the road along with the rest. She had gained some information from conversations going on around her. From conversations she knew a battle was going on, and they were headed towards it. She also got the feeling that it went against what Gregory wanted to do. His shouting carried across to where she walked.

Mary still walked beside her, seemed almost giddy with anticipation of an upcoming battle. She checked her gun almost constantly. Ami felt none of the anticipation of the others. The group start to slow down much to her relief. It seemed like they had walked for two days straight to her.

“The time is almost here, so exciting!” Mary said, checking her gun once again. Ami merely looked over at her unsure what to think about the woman. She had learned the woman had killed for the fun of it. She viewed killing as a game to her, bragging she had killed over a hundred people, but the authorities only found out about a dozen of them. Continue reading…
