Part 2

President Angelia Series waited patiently, listening to the senators from the Middle East providence complain again. They always complained and today proved no different than any other day.  They currently complained about the military expenditures, a favorite target of theirs, aside from snide remarks about her being a woman.

“Its not right, the military takes up too much of the budget and must be decreased, even you, a woman, must see that. After all you said it in your election speeches,” Aymil said, the biggest opponent to military spending.

“You know I normally don’t agree with him, but I do on this issue. That’s why we’re making this joint protest to you directly,” Jarah said to her.  “The military is weakening our economy and stunting any growth we might have gotten due to technology over the event.” Continue reading…

Part 1

Adama looked around at the frim face of the council staring back at him after they went over the latest numbers. Supplies were running far too low and ships were beginning to show signs of breaking down from their long journey.  Even one of the argo ships was suffering despite the priority of repairs to it.  He knew, as did the others, if it failed food in the fleet would fall below survivable rates.  Even fuel was limited.

“If news of this gets out, there’ll be panic and riots,” Uri, one of the councilmen said quietly. Adama noticed his grim expression seemed more dire than normal.  Morale among the civilians was already at an all-time low.

“Are there any solar system coming up which might have supplies?” another councilman asked, as they all looked towards Adama. He felt the weight of the meeting upon his shoulders. Continue reading…

Ephiny and the Roman Army – Part 6

Ephiny and the Roman Army

Part 6

Eph and Gabrielle approached the training field to see a group of younger Amazons were already training. It took them a few seconds before they realized who was standing there and Eph felt sure the reaction was due more to the fact Gabrielle had nothing on than anything else.  She caught a few of the younger Amazons openly staring, at least until the trainers caught them.

The trainers broke the group up into smaller groups and started on new routines. Eph watched as many hit themselves, probably still distracted by Gabrielle, but overall they looked good.

“Well, well, well, I see our ‘princess’ has honored us by attending the training grounds,” a voice said causing Eph to turn knowing who the voice belonged to.

She watched as Ligeia walked towards them much to Eph’s shock. She thought the warrior was on patrol.  The tall Amazon made her way over to where they stood and looked down at Gabrielle.

“So, do you know how to defend yourself, or do you hid behind the Conqueror’s skirt, or perhaps I should say under it,” Ligeia stated. Continue reading…

Part 5

“Um, I guess I should learn what I’m going to do tonight,” Gabrielle finally said breaking the silence which had prevailed since Valaska and Eponin left the hut. “I don’t have to kill anyone, do I?”

Eph looked over at Gabrielle at the tone the younger woman had used. She had a slight look of terror at the thought of doing something like that, which was confusing considering the person she had as a lover.

“Um, no, the prisoner still has to undergo the trial, but the order will probably be death,” Melosa replied. “At that time it will fall upon you to carry out.”

Eph watched as Gabrielle’s face went pale at the thought but it was the Conqueror who spoke up first.

“She won’t do it,” the Conqueror said, her voice holding a note of finality to it. Continue reading…

Part 4

Ephiny looked back into the hut realizing she was now alone with the Conqueror and Gabrielle who was still looking though stuff.

“Don’t worry so much,” Gabrielle said surprising Eph.

“Easy for you to say, you’re not the one who’s headed into a war camp,” Eph replied back to her.

“No, but they are expecting you to appear. They know such a force won’t remain hidden for long, even if the scouts are friendly to their cause,” Gabrielle said.

“You really think so?” Eph asked.

“Yeah, sounds like something the Romans do,” Gabrielle replied back to her.

Ephniy didn’t reply to that but supposed Gabrielle was right. It still meant she had to face a Roman army which probably didn’t have peaceful intentions with the Nation. Continue reading…

Part 3

A candlemark later Eph sighed watching Gabrielle tug on the top once more complaining about it being too tight. Zona looked up at her then over at Eph as did Gabrielle.

“Do I have to wear this?’ Gabrielle asked.

“Its tradition,” Eph said with a slight smile on her face.

“Traditions suck sometimes, can’t we change it, make a new tradition?” Gabrielle asked back.

Ephiny had a feeling the ancients never planned on having someone like Gabrielle when they planned such a feast. She tried playing the peacemaker between Gabrielle and Zona early on with no luck and decided it was safer to stay out of the way.  Gabrielle had a quick wit and Zona was armed with pins.

The hut of the door opened allowing the Conqueror and Melosa inside. Eph watched as Gabrielle and the Conqueror shared a look and for a second it appeared they were able to read each others’ minds. Continue reading…

Ephiny and the Roman Army – Part 2

Part 2

Ephiny looked up at as the Conqueror seemed to finally settle on an arrangement on how the camp was supposed to be set up. One guard had been sent back to the main army behind them to tell them what was going on.  Eph knew the Conqueror needed time to inform Melosa of what was going on before suddenly finding out there was an entire Greek army behind this group.

That thought brought up the fact Gabrielle might have informed Melosa about the army as part of the story with Terreis. Eph could only imagine the reaction her queen might give.  Normally the queen was thoughtful and deliberate before reacting to anything, but an army this close to the Nation might not be welcome and others might use it as a reason to reject Gabrielle’s Rite-of-Caste.

“Well, we’re pretty much set up, ready to go?’ the Conqueror said interrupting Ephiny’s thoughts.

“Sure,” Eph said, getting up and glancing over at the Conqueror and a sudden question came to her mind and decided to ask the question and get a different perspective. “I’ve heard Gabrielle’s version, but what’s your version of how you two met?” Continue reading…

Part 1

Ephiny glanced back once more to where Gabrielle rode with the Conqueror and gave a small shake of her head at the sight. There was the newest princess of the Nation snuggled into the embrace of the Conqueror, a sight she never thought she’d see.  Then again she had already seen a lot of changes within the Nation itself in the past season.

During the winter the Nation worked out a treaty with Greece and the Conqueror, mainly with the help of the persistence of a small slave named Gabrielle. Since signing it the Nation had managed to sever their growing dependency on Rome.   Now the slave, during Ephiny’s visit to the Greece capital of Corinth, had gain the Rite- of Caste from Terreis who was killed by Roman merchants.  To top it all off, the slave had more blessing from the gods and goddesses than any other mortal Ephiny had ever known, including the blessing of Artemis.

The sight of Gabrielle, sitting in front of the Conqueror who had an arm wrapped around her as the horse continued on. Even from this distance Ephiny could see the love between the two of them, as she knew of no one else who could probably relax while in the Conqueror’s embrace and still smile about it. Shadows of the Mind

Crystal watched as Rigel looked on in shock at what she said. Such strong emotions came from the woman it made her wonder if she said something wrong.  The silence stretched out for several seconds before anyone said anything.

“Adama, that the commander,” Rigel finally stated. “I think you need to talk to Commander Tigh.”

Crystal had a feeling she was about to be involved in something she had no idea about. It felt so strange, yet also so familiar, a position she understood.  The figures in power were people she understood.

“Come on,” Rigel said, forcing Crystal to go with her. Continue reading…

Master Lighter

Master Lighter

Disclaimers: This story involves two women who look like Xena and Gabrielle who I don’t own. This story takes place in the Star Wars universe and I have borrowed Yoda from George Lucas.

Subtext: Yes these two women love each other and are soul mates, no graphic sex scenes.

This takes place shortly after Jedi Bri Meets Sith Xara, you might want to read that first.

Bri and Xara walked wearily into their quarters after their first mission together. Xara smiled at her smaller companion as she walked straight to the bedroom and sprawled out on their bed. The Jedi Council had given them permission to bunk together and had moved them to larger quarters, one that allowed them more space and two twin beds.

At first they had placed the twin beds together to make a double bed. That idea bad been quickly scrapped as an early wake up call from Master Yoda one morning had them racing to change the arrangement. After that morning they found out they could share a bed quite easily. Bri usually ended up lying on top of Xara with their arms around each other so they did not take up much room. Continue reading…
