Part 6

Mitchell found a very busy command room with Sam working with Wilker and a few others before making his way over to where Daniel sat.

“Want to fill me in?” Mitchell said.

“The ZPM doesn’t have enough power to dial again to our galaxy, so we’re hoping to boost the power with the starships nearby,” Daniel said.

“And this will work?” Mitchell asked.

“Don’t know, it might short the gate out, even destroying it,” Daniel said.

“Great, a gate which could short out, a large warship poised to crash onto this site in about an hour and Cylons on their way,” Mitchell said. “Good thing there’s no pressure.  Sam, what’s the situation?” Continue reading…

Part 5

Mitchell stood on the bridge of the Galactica watching how things were going on. He noticed a few times the Cylons had feigned an attack on the fleet.  Each one was beaten back and he wondered if the attacks served a purpose after a third such attack.

“Why don’t they just attack?” Mitchell asked Tigh.

“Probably steering us in a certain direction, towards the system,” Tigh stated.

“Then why haven’t they attacked the ships there?” Mitchell asked not able to understand this enemy.

“I think they expected the fleet to move as one, our tactics have probably confused them. That will last until the Galactica gets there,” Tigh replied.  “Once the Galactica reaches the system I figure they will attack in full force.”

“And how much longer do we have?” Mitchell asked, uneasy about that information. Continue reading…

Part 4

Adama looked at the council knowing they were not going to give up. He had not arrived at this conclusion easily knowing it would affect everyone in the fleet beyond anything they had known.  But he also had to trust what he had been told, the humans in the other galaxy were probably a safer choice than their chances against the Cylons.  He also would trust in his people’s ability to adapt and rebuild a new civilization.

“There is nothing you can do?” Uri asked Mitchell.

“Sorry, any of our ships would take several weeks in hyperspace to arrive here, by then I think this battle will be over,” Mitchell replied back to Uri.

“And we’re to just go hopping across the galaxy on a whim?” Uri asked. “For all we know this group could be wanting us as slaves.”

“We’re not like that,” Mitchell replied back hotly. Continue reading…

Part 3

Apollo shielded his eyes having a feeling he knew what he would see when he opened them up again. Blinking again he wasn’t surprised to see John standing there in the room but wondered why he was here his time.  Did he know something about all of this as well and never bothered to tell them?

“Who are you and how did you get on my ship?” Adama asked.

“John,” Apollo said speaking up before his father did something everyone might regret.

“Commander, I apologize for my sudden appearance,” John said looking at everyone gathered there. “But you have questions that need answering, and I can provide some answers, at least why there are no stargates, aside from this one, in our galaxy.”

Part 2

Mitchell watched as the gate dialed and the seventh chevron locked and continued on. An unusual experience as he looked around at the equipment they would be taking with them.  The connection made the MALP headed on through the gate and waited.

“Sir, it looks like an Ancient building,” Sam said.

“Ancients, you sure?” Mitchell replied.

“Positive,” Sam said. “That means they’ll have a way to plug in a ZPM if needed,” Sam stated.

”SG-1, you have a go,” Landry said.

Mitchell looked at the others before saying anything. “All right, move out,” he ordered and headed towards the gate with the others following him.  Continue reading…
