Part 19

It looked out at the vast army it had and realized the time was right. Its army would destroy the human world here once and for all, and then it would rule over this world.  The only which mattered was the destruction of the human race at its hand.

The order was send out and it watched as two ships began movement towards the planet below. Now it was time and it could complete its programming and nothing could stop it.

If only its commander could see it now, it would be the pride of the empire.

“Apollo,” he heard a familiar voice say, and looked over to see his father standing there with a group of men and woman along with Sheba and Jolly. He looked over at Sheba knowing she had disobeyed his order and brought his father here, but why.  Continue reading…

The group watched as another shuttle landed not far away from the first one. Bojay, Brie and Jolly seemed very concerned about the presence of the shuttle considering they were not expecting anyone else from the fleet to come.  A few seconds later the door opened surprising them as Sheba walked out, but the group behind her really shocked them.

Commander Adama walked out of the shuttle and glanced around spotting his three warriors standing with a dozen other humans, but no sight of Apollo, Starbuck or Cassiopeia. The only thing which really surprised him was the large, hovering, spherical droid beside them.  He quickly recovered from his shock and headed towards Jolly to figure out what happened.

Behind him Walker walked out and into one of his greatest fantasies. As far as he could see an entire city of machines who appeared to have built he city.  They had reached a level of computer intelligence which Wilker had never dared to explore due to what happened with the Cylons.  He had enjoyed taking apart Cylons and other robotic machines, and here in front of him was a robot unlike any other he had ever seen.

“Commander,” Jolly said as Adama made his way over to them.

“Where’s Apollo?” Adama asked hoping to figure out what was going on, and had really expected his son to meet him on the surface of the planet.

“He went to a city called Zion, its where they say Boomer is,” Bojay answered. Continue reading…

Part 17

The landcrawler made good time through the tunnel towards the human city called Zion. Apollo followed the instructions Niobe gave them as to which was to turn, and a few times heh ad to avoid the rubble which littered the floor of the tunnels.  The ride was a bit bumpy but the vehicle was designed to go over such things and continued on the path.

The group had not gotten much information from Niobe about what had happened on this planet. She more concerned with something else and Apollo had a reason to believe that question might be answered once they arrived in Zion.  He went over what he knew and had a feeling they should not expect an open welcome upon reaching the city.

“Niobe, why are your people not receptive of outsiders?” Apollo asked, trying to gain as much information as possible for the upcoming meeting.

“I don’t know either,” Niobe stated. “Ever since the end of the war, the council has been acting strangely.  The only thing I can think of is they don’t think the war is over and as a result they distrust the machines even more than before.  When they asked for help it was viewed by the council as a sinister plot to ambush us and finish us off once and for all.” Continue reading…

Niobe watched as the ship came to halt in front of her, along with the other two ships which looked very much like fighters, sleek, futuristic fighters, but fighter none-the-less. She watched as the doors opened allowing two men to walk out, both dressed in identical uniforms, brown and tans, and both wore weapons which looked very similar to the ones the robot had.

“I’m Captain Apollo of the Battlestar Galactica,” the dark-haired said, introducing himself to the group as they probably already knew who he was. “This is Lieutenant Starbuck,” he said motioning to the other man.

“I’m Niobe,” she said, her reply in a friendlier voice than before.

“We’re looking for a friend of ours, perhaps you’ve seen him?” Starbuck asked getting right down to why they were there. Continue reading…

Apollo piloted the shuttle towards the planet Jolly said Boomer crashed on. The flight had an escort of three vipers and so far encountered nothing which could be considered threatening.  He wondered who they had encountered and might have attacked Boomer after entering the atmosphere.  He picked up no transmissions either which only added to the mystery of what happened.

“Apollo,” Brie’s voice said breaking his thought process.

“What’s up Brie?” Apollo asked having a feeling she had seen something due to the tone of her voice. She was always easily excitable.

“I’m picking up five craft in orbit around the planet we’re headed towards,” Brie stated surprising Apollo, he had not been paying attention as he should have and now had to think of what to do next.

“Keep an eye on them and be ready for anything,” Apollo said turning towards Jolly. “Are they the ones who attacked Boomer?” Continue reading…

75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

The anniversary of the attack by Japan on Pearl Harbor.

Who knew that day as people woke up that day that going to church, and then having lunch, listening to the baseball game of what was going on in the Pacific.

The baseball game was interrupted with a special announcement informing people across the country that Japan had attacked the US Navy at Pearl Harbor.

By the time the attack was over al eight battleships had been damaged or sunk and two would never return to service.  One, the USS Arizona would remain as a memorial to those who were lost in the attack.

It was an event which brought the US into the war and since then has also been the focus of many different conspiracies.  Many of them are at best unrealistic, others have more thought into them, but there is no real way to know one way or the other, as the conspiracy could be true, but so too could they conspiracies be false.

In the end, remember what happened and remember the lessons to be learned.

Boomer walked along the ruined path now being led by his new guide Melissa to some underground city named Zion. Neither one had sad much on the trip as he figured both were thinking about what was going on.  Boomer was still trying to figure out if these people were part of the group who shot him down or not.  The group he met seemed jittery and not much of a group of soldiers and he felt sure they had not met anyone from the Colonies and he had no idea who they might be.

Melissa meanwhile as trying to figure out who this man called Boomer was from. She had never seen anyone dressed like him that much was for sure.  She recalled all of her lessons and knew that any human not from the Matrix lived in Zion and no other cities were known and anyone who came from the Matrix had markings from implants from being connected all over their body.  From what she could tell Boomer did not have any such markings.

The two of them approached the massive gates to Zion leaving Boomer in awe of the size and scale of the gate, which was meant to keep something. He watched as Melissa took a breath and walked through a side door and into a massive underground cavern, the city of Zion. Continue reading…

John quickly became irritated by the constant questioning of the group he was leading and wished he had said no to Turner.   He knew the way to eth surface, having been there several times especially during the war as a spy.  He had gone up a few times in the past year mostly for recon to check on the machines, who appeared to be doing their own thing.

What annoyed him the most was some in the group wanting to go the wrong direction thinking it would be quicker when he knew they were dead ends. The only real salvation was the fact a few others had been navigators on ships and knew John was right.  They knew the way around a bit, but were used to things going faster instead of walking around the tunnels.

“Just admit it John, you have no clue where we are going,” Todd said to him causing John to turn to face him.

“There is no quick way to the surface. We blocked most of the access points to the surface during the war to avoid an invasion.  That and the tunnels we left open were easily defendable,” John replied back to him before turning back around and freezing at what he saw in front of him. Part 12

Boomer quickly made his way over to some ruins which he could use as a place to hide from whoever attacked him. He looked around gaining the best advantage he could find unsure who, or what, had attacked him in the first place.  Everything he had seen he had no answers to what happened.  He thought maybe those machines had attacked the humans here, or whatever civilization was here, but looking around nothing made any sense.

He carefully walked along having the feeling he was being watched but could not see anyone and it all felt a bit unnerving to him but kept his guard up in case. Looking around the broken building he wondered what its purpose had been when it was used and who had built it in the first place.

He took a closer look seeing the metal rusting away before picking up a piece as it disintegrated in his hands. It obviously had been there for a while to be able to decay this much.  He saw no pictures, or anything which might indicate writing to give him an idea of who might have done this. Part 11

Adama walked to the center of the room which was lit by candles as people stood all around. As many of the bridge crew and pilots were there as possible for the sealing, at least those who were not on duty.  He glanced around and realized he knew them all professionally, and personally as their trip among the stars continued.  He wondered when they became family and friends instead of just crewmembers.

Omega stood next to Adama waiting for the ceremony to begin and they watched as Riel walked into the room wearing a white dress which had been fitted for her. Adama recognized it as the same one Serina worn when she had wed Apollo and realized she had asked Apollo.  Adama hoped Rigel and Omega’s time together was longer than Serina and Apollo’s.

As everyone got into position he noticed Cassiopeia standing next to Starbuck and wondered when his next ceremony would take place. It might even involve Sheba and Apollo, but Adama turned his attention back to the happy couple.

“Who gives Rigel?” Adama asked, beginning the ceremony. Continue reading…
