Ephiny and the New Princess – Part 6

Part 6

“Yet despite it being complex it’s actually a simple story,” Gabrielle said to Eph’s question about how she and the Conqueror met.  “I like to say it was love at first sight, but Xena will deny that, always does, and that’s just like her.  Besides, I know better.”

“Now I’m curious about how that happened,” Ephiny said knowing there was a story about how a slave and her master could have love at first sight.

“The first time I ever saw Xena she looked like a magnificent goddess,” Gabrielle said and Eph watched as her face took a dreamy look.  “She’d just killed my previous owner at the time, for which I felt grateful and strode through the household taking command of everyone and everything.  I recall our eyes meeting and something inside me wanted to go with her, be with her, be consumed by her.”

“You wanted to be with the Conqueror?” Eph asked wondering if Gabrielle had heard even half the rumors of the Conqueror, if so no one wanted to go with her, least not a slave. Continue reading…

Ephiny and the New Princess – Part 5

Part 5

Ephiny found herself fending off several Amazons, all of whom were asking questions about what happened.

“Silence,” Eph finally shouted, waiting several seconds for things to quiet down before noticing that almost everyone from the camp was around her.  “All right, by now word had probably spread that something happened to Terreis, she was assassinated on our walk back here earlier in the day.  We are working with Greece officials to identify the attacker, who is still unknown, but we are getting close.”

“I heard Centaurs did it, when do we strike back?” one Amazon, Jana asked, always quick to speak before thinking, but Eph knew she spoke from the heart.

“We don’t, we tacked the tracks, which were originally Centaur, back towards the Cnetaur camp,” Eph said knowing this was going badly but hoped to get the rest out before the group charged the Centaurs.  “Short of the camp the tracks changed to a regular horse, and the tracks then led towards the Roman camp.”  She hoped a few might actually listen to that last part.

“Roman?” one asked. Continue reading…

Part 4

“Gabrielle stop!”

They all turned to see who had spoken.  They noticed a beautiful blonde standing not far away wearing a see-through dress.  “You are always welcome in my temples.”

“Aphrodite,” Eph said quietly, there was no one else who she could be.

“In the flesh babe,” the goddess replied back to her before making her way over to where Gabrielle stood.  Eph spared a glance to the priest who now seemed shocked now that the goddess herself had appeared personally telling Gabrielle to stop.  “We finally meet after all this time my Chosen.”

At this the priest finally sputtered back to life.  “My goddess, you must be joking.  I have to protest, she is but a slave!”

“Silence,” Aphrodite said, her words cutting across his protest.  Eph had never seen a god, or goddess angry and never knew the goddess of love could get angry but she was.  “I’ve been watching you, and I’m not pleased at all.” Continue reading…

Ephiny and the New Princess – Part 3

Ephiny and the New Princess

Part 3

Ephiny stood in the great hall with Gabrielle and Airlea, an Amazon priestess, who had stayed with her.  Terreis died shortly before the healers could arrive and Ephiny stayed with Gabrielle while Eponin stayed with the Conqueror to figure out what happened.  Eph now felt awkward in the presence of the Nation’s newest princess, and wondered how the others would react to the news knowing some would not take the news very well.  Old tensions were bound to flare up, and some would even speak conspiracy.

“I’m sorry about your friend, I wish I could have known her better,” Gabrielle stated, finally breaking the silence between the two of them.  Eph turned to face her and knew she had to talk, and not let her gaze drop.

“Thanks, its strange now, but as I think about it, I think she knew this day would come,” Eph said recalling the events of her friend’s life.  Eph had tried for several seasons to pursue Terreis as more than a friend, but was pushed away at every turn despite the fact they both liked each other, or so Eph thought.  Nor did Terreis ever challenge Valaska when she rose up to be the next in line.  Terreis always tried to keep things light and fun, never serous, living for the moment.

“She told me something while we were talking about you, she knew you and Eponin would be lovers, and get married.  She also said she was alone that night, said you’d understand,” Gabrielle said to a shocked Ephiny. Continue reading…

Part 2

Ephiny walked alongside Eponin on their way back to the camp.  They were quite, both deep in thought and Eph had a feeling it was probably the same thing.  Something didn’t add up and it worried her especially when you add in the fact that Terreis had one of her strange looks when looking at Gabrielle and she felt sure now something would happen.

“You all right?” Eponin asked causing Eph to look over at her.

“Huh?  Oh, yeah, just thinking about something and how strange it all seems,” Ephiny replied.

“I know what you mean,” Eponin replied before stopping and looking at her.  “You think it’s the Romans?”

“They did give me the creeps at dinner,” Ephiny answered after some thought.  She looked up as they approached the camp and an Amazon approached to give Eponin the report on the camp.

“Report,” Eponin stated the moment the Amazon was close enough. Continue reading…

Disclaimer:  This is a Xena: Warrior Princess fan fiction, also has same sex pairings.

Part 1

Ephiny glanced over where Eponin and Princess Terreis were, deep in conversation over something.  Eph still could not believe they would be entering Cornith as guests after so long being enemies of Greece.  The trade agreements were doing even better than anyone thought and relations between the Nation and the city of Patrii were doing well.

Erika returned home to the nation alive and with news of the Conqueror’s defeat of the Horde.  She said nothing else other than vengeance was done and Ephiny never pursued the story anymore, nor did the Queen who seemed satisfied with the report.

The mines were starting to become profitable to the point they had built a small village outside the mine for everyone to sleep and eat in for both the workers and the guards.  No Amazon thought the process would go so smoothly and Eph wondered if Gabrielle had.  Ephiny made a mental note to ask Gabrielle about it later on.

They had also noticed a reduction in soldiers in Patrii and neighboring towns as the Conqueror moved troops around to what she considered more vital areas.  It was obvious she no longer considered the Amazons a threat, which worked well both ways.  They no longer had to hold as many troops along the border either. Part 79: Remembrance

Pratt stood in silence at the last transmission from the battle. He couldn’t believe it but somehow he knew.

“Captain Scott here, Argo destroyed.”

Pratt sat down words rushing around but he heard none of them. The Argo destroyed.

“Cylon basestar also destroyed.”

Pratt vaguely became aware as Eric changed the Cylon numbers then slowly, almost hesitantly crossed out the Argo’s name.

“Commander Adama is taking charge,” Scott’s voice said. Continue reading…

Part 78: The Final Battle

Ares glanced at the scanner once more. His forces were engaged in a battle not seen in yahrens in this sector of space. He would have to look at the history logs for a long time before he found such a battle. Now with the majority of Cylon forces engaged with Colonial and Earth forces the tide of the war could suddenly shift in ways no one could have expected.

“Commander, Leopard is heavily outgunned in sector seven,” Troy said.

Ares looked at the scanner before answering. “Can Galactica’s blue squadron help out?”

“I’ll ask,” Troy said. Ares waited the few seconds before the answer came back. “They are on their way now commander.”

“Inform the Leopard’s captain,” Ares said.

Ares calculated the distances to the next basestar. The scanners indicated it had suffered damage in many places, probably one of the ones hit heavily in the missile barrage. Now he felt certain the time had come to use another missile. Continue reading…

December Updates

Winter is upon us as is the holiday season, time for decorations, presents and eggnog (along with relatives both good and bad).

2015 is in its last month, boy did this year fly by for me.  I guess having a severe backache, back and lung surgery, ICU for 2 weeks, 45 days of inpatient physical therapy and 6 months of therapy will do that.

The site continues to grow, Battlestar Argo is almost complete, and will be posting a few other old stories heading into the new year.  As for writing, Nanowrimo went all right, I did complete the Buck Rogers fanfiction story.  It’ll probably go through some editing next year before posting here.

Hoping you and your family are having a safe and happy (and warm) Christmas.  Yes I know, its not PC to say Christmas, but I am doing so anyways.

Stop by my facebook page, or twitter account which I try to keep up to date.

Part 77: D-Day

Nall walked towards the war room where he knew Bri had gone to talk to Commander Ares. He had talked with Troy about Bri and they both agreed that she had acted slightly strange lately. He didn’t want to say anything, but Troy had noticed it a bit as well. They had decided it might have a lot to do with the fact that they were entering a big battle, and what might be the last large battle between the Cylons and humanity.

He stopped short at the loud voices coming from the war room.

“Are you crazy?” he heard Ares’ voice.

“No, I’m not, but you can’t ground me!” Bri’s voice said.

“I should have you thrown off the ship for even suggesting this!”

Nall’s eyebrows rose at that. He never heard Ares sound mad, especially towards one of the old crew members. Continue reading…
