Part 11<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the place?\u201d Apollo said, as the vehicle approached a building.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome good news, they\u2019ve taken the communications center,\u201d Sheba said.<\/p>\n

Apollo nodded still watching where they were going. He felt slightly surprised there was no one on the roads. That changed when they turned the corner, a barricade in front of the building with armed guards.<\/p>\n

\u201cOpen fire,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

The ATV opened fire blasting the emplacements. Two heavy emplacements were quickly destroyed before the troops could recover.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this is where we get out,\u201d Sheba stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, we\u2019re headed into that building then,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSounds good to me,\u201d Sheba replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cJolly, keep up the covering fire for us,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot a problem,\u201d Jolly replied, firing again at another emplacement.<\/p>\n

Apollo quickly found cover off to the side glancing around towards the building. Jolly had done a good job but the destruction would have prevented the ATV from going any further.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s get going,\u201d Apollo said to the group. They had about sixteen people and headed off towards the building. Apollo fired off a few round watching the soldiers drop stunned.<\/p>\n

He entered the building watching carefully for any danger. A few more guards came running up which were quickly stunned before they could even retaliate. The one thing about stunning, they could fire first without the care if the person was friendly as no harm would be done.<\/p>\n

\u201cFiring randomly?\u201d Amy asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s set to stun, they\u2019ll wake up in a couple of hours,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAh, a bit dangerous to leave your opponent alive,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot when you\u2019re fighting the Cylons, you needed every person you have,\u201d Apollo replied as they walked into another area.<\/p>\n

\u201cStop,\u201d a commanding voice said.<\/p>\n

Apollo watched as three men walked out. He had no idea who they were.<\/p>\n

\u201cSurrender to us and we won\u2019t kill you on sight,\u201d the man who appeared in charge said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, we\u2019re here for your surrender General Bartin,\u201d Amy replied.<\/p>\n

Apollo watched as the man laughed at Amy\u2019s statement. \u201cMy dear woman, you have what, a couple of dozen men, I have a couple of thousand.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou forget the population, they outnumber the soldiers, and we\u2019re taking our planet back. Already we have the communications sent forth call to begin open resistance,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith what, all weapons were confiscated,\u201d Bartin replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou really think we allowed it all to be taken, then you\u2019re a bigger fool than I thought,\u201d Amy said. \u201cWe\u2019ve prepared for this for years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apollo thought the general\u2019s face showed a bit of shock at Amy\u2019s words. Apollo held his blaster ready waiting to see what would happen next.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are to surrender at once,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd if I refuse?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I shoot all three of you and we take over anyways,\u201d Apollo replied pointing the blaster at the men. Bartin hesitated for several seconds before replying. Apollo hoped the man saw reason but prepared for anything.<\/p>\n

Bartin raised his gun and Apollo shot automatically stunning all three.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, that might complicate things,\u201d Amy said walking past the down men and into the next room.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always been quick on the draw,\u201d Apollo replied. He had a flashback to his encounter with \u2018Red Eye\u2019 shortly after the Galactica began its flight.<\/p>\n

Apollo watched as Amy quickly went to work at one of the consoles.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood, everyone\u2019s in place,\u201d Amy said. \u201cSwitch that on will you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apollo glanced down at what she said taking a guess on what the on switch would be. It hummed to life and he stepped back waiting for whatever Amy would do.<\/p>\n

\u201cPam, you there?\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cChad, Aaron, you there yet?\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYep, ready to go,\u201d a couple of replies came back.<\/p>\n

\u201cSwitch it on,\u201d Amy said. Apollo watched as Amy straightened up facing a camera. \u201cThis is the new emergency Governor Barnes to all citizens of Serria. The Milsian general has been taken hostage and the new government bequests the citizens of Serria to help overthrow the Milsian invaders with the help of the Colonial forces. This is a time to band together. The fleet is Milsian fleet is no longer in orbit, now is the time. There are already command people in every city with organized resistance. Please help them out. I will ask help from the Alliance but I have no idea how long help will be. Until such time it is up to us to retake our home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy switched it off then turned to Apollo.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell?\u201d Apollo asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe now wait,\u201d she said bringing up a map. Apollo noticed it was the planet.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have resistance groups in every city, they are working to engage all Milsian forces, but we might not have enough.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you let us know where, we can help reinforce your people,\u201d Apollo said. He opened a communications to Boomer. \u201cBoomer, send the shuttles back up to get reinforcements. We might need them in the surrounding cities. But we have, at least for now, a working government.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOn it,\u201d Boomer replied.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

\u201cCommander,\u201d Tigh\u2019s voice said breaking Adama\u2019s thoughts about the fleet.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is it?\u201d Adama asked, hoping for good news.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeems like things are going well, minimal losses so far, three warriors,\u201d Tigh said. \u201cAnd they have now taken the government buildings. A government it seems has already been established.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cInteresting, they were well organized for this rebellion,\u201d Adama said. \u201cWhich makes me wonder why they needed us?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir fleet, reinforcements could be sent down at a moment\u2019s notice,\u201d Tigh said. \u201cApollo has already sent a request for additional troops.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, have additional ground forces ready to go,\u201d Adama said. \u201cWe\u2019ll have to talk with the new government about our situation real soon. The fleet will be arriving in a couple of Sectons.\u201d<\/p>\n

He watched Tigh nod his head in agreement. He wondered how much of the planet would be under the new government\u2019s control by then. Either way he had pretty much run out of options for keep the fleet safe.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommander, this is interesting,\u201d Omega said. \u201cOur scanners indicate Tylium on a far moon in this system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adama perked up on that. The news had to be the best he had received in a while now for the fleet. He also understood that neither the Alliance nor the Milsian Empire mined Tylium. He would have to begin operations right away. He quickly thought about who to call to begin operations and sent forth the communications to the proper ships.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

Mark sat across from another Milsian captain as the results of the test came back for him. Mark watched him read it over then glance over at Crystal with interest.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s true then,\u201d the man said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I am Prince Boris\u2019 daughter,\u201d Crystal said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen you were not lying, you are the rightful heir. How did this happen?\u201d the captain asked. Mark noticed that even the other Milsian captains and Admiral Junkers focused their attention on Crystal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, but I think it has to do with my mother\u2019s position,\u201d Crystal said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd your father\u2019s ideas at that time,\u201d Otto said speaking up. Everyone glanced over at him before he continued. \u201cI never really realized it until recently, but Prince Boris would have changed the Empire over time. He disliked the class system. Thought it killed progress by preventing good people from excelling in positions that could greatly help the Empire. Don\u2019t get me wrong, he still wanted to conquer the Alliance, but he knew that the classes had prevented good technologies from coming forth. You see the Milsian Empire is heavily dependent on the Alliance for technology advances.\u201d<\/p>\n

That shocked Mark. He had never known that the Alliance was ahead of the Milsians in technology considering their ships and fighters.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd what does that prove?\u201d one captain said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t you see, it would have not mattered to Boris who he decided to marry. He liked Crystal\u2019s mother, I\u2019m sorry Crystal, I have nothing that can prove he loved her,\u201d Otto said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know, but I think he did, or at least I know my mother did,\u201d Crystal said softly. \u201cShe spoke of him and his kindness and strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, he was strong, but in the end, the royal family saw him as weak and a threat to the system,\u201d Otto said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can see why,\u201d the Kitakkim captain, Diern, said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople fear change,\u201d Mark said. \u201cEven now all of us are afraid because we\u2019re undergoing change in ways no one can understand.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you mean? I\u2019m still trying to figure out why you\u2019re here,\u201d another captain stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat will be address but now is everyone in agreement that Crystal is the rightful heir and therefore Empress of the Milsian Empire,\u201d Otto finally said.<\/p>\n

Mark glanced around looking at people in the room. No one raised any objection at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood, then we still have a lot of work to do,\u201d Otto said. \u201cCaptain Cave, if you would explain the overall situation to everyone here.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you admiral,\u201d Mark said, standing and heading over to the screen. \u201cSome of you already know of this part, but several days ago two new groups appeared in the mix, I am talking about the Colonials and the Cylons.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve heard of them, but what does this have to do with anything?\u201d one asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cylons are currently infiltrating the Alliance under a man named Baltar. The Nevada, my ship, is considered a rebel ship for disobeying direct orders of HQ. This is because of the Cylons,\u201d Mark said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese Cylons, are they the same ships that helped defend Pacifica from our invasion?\u201d Otto asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes,\u201d Mark said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey caught me by surprise forcing me to retreat,\u201d Otto said.<\/p>\n

Mark did not realize that he would actually meet the commander he had fought against. He recovered and continued, \u201cI made contact with the Galactica, and the Colonials only to come under Cylon attack. The Cylons will not stop until we\u2019re all dead, or we have completely defeated them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, Commander Adama made some comment about that,\u201d Diern said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf humanity does not stand together, we will fall,\u201d Crystal said finally. \u201cThat means the Milsian Empire has to stand side-by-side with the Colonials and the Alliance if we are to survive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t need the Alliance to defend ourselves,\u201d Diern said fiercely.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s more than defense, we must attack,\u201d Mark said. \u201cFor that none of us have the resources, so we have to ban together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou expect us to work together?\u201d one other captain said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I can work with a Milsian captain and fleet, and take orders from a Milsian Empress, and call her a friend, then yes,\u201d Mark replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will not be a debate,\u201d Crystal said suddenly standing up. \u201cThe survival of more than the Empire is at stake. If we allow the Alliance to fall in battle then we\u2019ve lost a potential ally against the Cylons. And from what I\u2019ve seen and heard, we\u2019ll need all the allies we can find.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark looked around noticing for the first time the effect of an Empress. A few appeared to struggle with the order, but had already backed down. Mark could only hope everything came together in time.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

Baltar turned to see Lucifer walk into the room. \u201cSpeak Lucifer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBy your command Baltar,\u201d Lucifer replied. \u201cThe basestar commanders await your orders, and have gathered at the point you indicated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey arrived quicker than I expected,\u201d Baltar said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, a tanker arrived so they could go full speed,\u201d Lucifer replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood, this might be what we needed,\u201d Baltar said. \u201cIs there still an indication the Milsian Empire is in chaos?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes Baltar,\u201d Lucifer replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I have a plan, get me Senator Agnot,\u201d Baltar said. It would be simple really. Destroy the Alliance and then he could turn his attention to the Milsian Empire and finally the Galactica. With eight basestars he would become a legend in the Cylon Empire.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

Amy glanced over wondering if she had heard Pam correctly.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Alliance is on the line?\u201d Amy asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes,\u201d Pam said. \u201cSeems that once communications was restored they didn\u2019t waste time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, put it through,\u201d Amy replied. She wondered how they would react to the fact she appointed herself title of emergency governor.<\/p>\n

The screen came to life and Amy recognized the man on the screen as Senator Agnot.<\/p>\n

\u201cSenator Agnot, this is Governor Barnes, what can I do for you?\u201dAmy said waiting to see what he would say.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere is Governor Celp?\u201d Agnot said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDead, the Milsians killed almost everyone in the government,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Milsians, they never invaded Serria,\u201d Agnot replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cWere you born a moron, or did you grow into one,\u201d Amy replied hotly. \u201cThey invaded and tried to take over Serria and we fought them off with some help from another group, no thanks to the Alliance. If you want Serria to rejoin the Alliance you\u2019re going to have to start acknowledging the real facts.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cReal facts, I highly doubt that the Milsians are behind this\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you hear yourself, I saw them, I was there, YOU were NOT! They were Milsian,\u201d Amy replied cutting off the senator.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see you haven\u2019t learned how to properly talk to an elected official still, you\u2019re father will learn of this,\u201d Agnot said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy father probably has more smarts in his pinky than you do in your entire body,\u201d Amy replied. \u201cHe knows what is really going on. I\u2019m beginning to wonder what your game is though.\u201d<\/p>\n

The phrase came out in Amy\u2019s anger, but the moment she said it her attitude changed and she really looked at him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s it, that\u2019s the reason you don\u2019t want to admit the Milsians are invading the Alliance, you are working for them,\u201d Amy replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cPreposterous,\u201d Agnot replied, his face tingeing red in anger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen tell me why you don\u2019t think they are capable of this?\u201d Amy replied. She waited expecting a reply, not for Agnot to end the conversation rather suddenly. Amy glanced over at Pam wondering what had happened, she only shrugged her shoulders.<\/p>\n

\u201cLooks like that went well,\u201d Apollo\u2019s voice said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know, but I now have doubts about his loyalty,\u201d Amy stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is one thing I need to talk to you about,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cGo ahead, I\u2019m listening for now,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need a place for our civilians,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a feeling this is a long story,\u201d Amy said, settling down to hear what Apollo had to say.<\/p>\n

When he finished Amy heard of a story covering a long time, a war with the Cylons, and how they were fleeing looking for Earth. The biggest problem now was they were almost out of fuel and needed a place to rest. She glanced over at Pam then back at Apollo.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow much of the planet has been taken back?\u201d Amy finally asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have reports from most cities that there is fighting, and in some areas the Milsians have been beaten back. When they lost their general things did become easier,\u201d Pam replied.<\/p>\n

Amy nodded knowing that the general in question was being held in the local prison.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many people,\u201d Amy asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeveral thousand, probably close to fifty or so,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

Amy gasped slightly knowing that they had once been on twelve worlds and probably had millions if not billions of people. The destruction from the Cylons was that great they were a huge threat to everyone here.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, try and work with local people and we\u2019ll see about finding a spot for them,\u201d Amy finally said. She noticed Apollo looked relieved with the news.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

Emperor Tony sat at his desk impatiently waiting for news from the Second Fleet. They had lost contact with them not long ago, and now he began to worry Jurez failed.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmperor, we have word from the Kitakkim that Admiral Jurez has been killed in the battle,\u201d an aide spoke. \u201cAfter the battle they retreated to regroup and are awaiting your orders.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony drummed his fingers on the table for several seconds thinking about what to do next. He had a large amount of problems Jurez had been killed. He looked at the screen before finally making a decision on what to do.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet Admiral Garrett on the line,\u201d Tony said, referring to the admiral of the First Fleet. Tony glanced at his monitor for several long minutes until Garrett\u2019s face appeared.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmperor, you called,\u201d Garrett said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I have a mission for the First Fleet,\u201d Tony said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are there for the Emperor,\u201d Garrett said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis will be a hard mission admiral, there is a rebellion going on among the fleets. It appears that the Third Fleet is following an imposter that has managed to influence Admiral Junkers,\u201d Tony said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOtto was always weak, unfit for command in my opinion,\u201d Garrett replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want you to head to Baraton, and either force them back to loyalty, or destroy them,\u201d Tony said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt shall be done,\u201d Garrett said. \u201cShall I take the First Fleet?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I want this rebellion crushed quickly,\u201d Tony said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you wish Emperor,\u201d Garrett said, signing off.<\/p>\n

Tony knew this would hurt the invasion and he would have to postpone it all. Even with everything in place he had to wait for the Empire to build the military back up. He also understood the threat that Crystal poised to his rule.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot everything going to your plan I see,\u201d a child\u2019s voice said.<\/p>\n

\u201cStill snooping I see,\u201d Tony said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you speak so loudly I can\u2019t help but overhear. You made a mistake already, and it\u2019s costing you,\u201d she said, before disappearing.<\/p>\n

Tony growled in frustration, more because she was right than anything else. He should have killed Crystal earlier than in a battle where she had a chance of survival. He would make sure this time everything went as planned.<\/p>\n
