Part 2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Mitchell watched as the gate dialed and the seventh chevron locked and continued on. An unusual experience as he looked around at the equipment they would be taking with them.\u00a0 The connection made the MALP headed on through the gate and waited.<\/p>\n

\u201cSir, it looks like an Ancient building,\u201d Sam said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAncients, you sure?\u201d Mitchell replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cPositive,\u201d Sam said. \u201cThat means they\u2019ll have a way to plug in a ZPM if needed,\u201d Sam stated.<\/p>\n

\u201dSG-1, you have a go,\u201d Landry said.<\/p>\n

Mitchell looked at the others before saying anything. \u201cAll right, move out,\u201d he ordered and headed towards the gate with the others following him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Stepping through the gate he saw the normal vision before stepping out on the other side of the gate and in another galaxy. It felt strange to him despite the fact he had been on other planets many times but didn\u2019t usually go to another galaxy.<\/p>\n

Sam, Daniel and Teal\u2019c appeared beside him as they fanned out a bit to explore the area.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefiantly Ancient in construction,\u201d Daniel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cReminds me of Atlantis,\u201d Sam said.<\/p>\n

It was a place Mitchell had not been so he had to take her word for it, but the gate did seem a bit different, like the Ancients made advances in how to build them.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, how\u2019s our power levels?\u201d Mitchell asked seeing Daniel heading over to the computer.<\/p>\n

\u201cAh, just a second,\u201d Daniel said working on the computer. Mitchell looked around seeing Teal\u2019c walk off through a doorway before turning back to Daniel.\u00a0 \u201cIt seems things are fine, we\u2019ll be able to dial back to Earth no problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mitchell felt relieved at that.<\/p>\n

\u201cColonel Mitchell,\u201d Teal\u2019c\u2019s voice said. \u201cI believe we are not alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHow do you know that,\u201d Mitchell replied over the radio.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause I am looking at them,\u201d Teal\u2019c replied gaining Mitchell\u2019s attention real fast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe might need to dial out of here in a hurry,\u201d Mitchell said to Daniel.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking on it,\u201d Daniel replied as Sam moved over to where he was.<\/p>\n

Mitchell made his way where he had last seen Teal\u2019c go and down the hallway encountered him standing with three others, all dressed in brown and looking back at Teal\u2019c.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay,\u201d Mitchell said as the group looked back at him. \u201cLook, we mean you no harm, we\u2019re explorers and came through the Stargate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStargate?\u201d the man with dark hair said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, that disk back there, ring of the ancients, Chappa\u2019ai, ring of the gods,\u201d Mitchell said hoping one of the names meant something to them. \u201cWe\u2019re only exploring and didn\u2019t mean to intrude.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUm, we\u2019re not from this planet either,\u201d the man finally said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFellow explorers?\u201d Mitchell said knowing they could be a lot of other things.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrolling for resources,\u201d the man finally said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo neither of us are from this planet? You know who is?\u201d Mitchell asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, thought you were the owners,\u201d the man said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, then let\u2019s all just lower our weapons,\u201d Mitchell said lowing his as did Teal\u2019c followed by the others.<\/p>\n

\u201cSir?\u201d Sam\u2019s voice said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything\u2019s under control,\u201d Mitchell radioed back.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you didn\u2019t come through the Chappa\u2019ai then how did you get here?\u201d Teal\u2019c asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cUm, spaceship,\u201d the man replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the universe.<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay, let\u2019s start over, I\u2019m Colonel Cameron Mitchell, this is Teal\u2019c. We\u2019re part of a group of explorers of the Tau\u2019ri,\u201d Mitchell replied hoping it might mean something to them.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever heard of them,\u201d the dark-haired one said. \u201cI\u2019m Captain Apollo, strike leader of the battlestar Galactica, this is Starbuck and Boomer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mitchell looked over at Teal\u2019c and knew it was beyond either of them. Perhaps Daniel or Sam might know more about the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cBattlestar, what is that?\u201d Teal\u2019c asked, it was the question he wanted to ask as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarship,\u201d Apollo replied back to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cApollo, you still there?\u2019 a female voice said and Apollo raised a devise which Mitchell considered to be a communicator.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, we ran into someone, doesn\u2019t appear to be dangerous,\u201d Apollo said even as Sam walked up.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s going on?\u201d Sam asked, stopping as she looked at the two men then back at Mitchell.<\/p>\n

\u201cSamantha Carter, meet Apollo, Starbuck and Boomer, from the battlestar Galactica,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cA starship?\u201d Sam asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally, I\u2019d love to see it,\u201d Sam said even as Mitchell was about to protest she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s why we came here, to see why there is only one stargate here.\u00a0 They might know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s up to them,\u201d Mitchell said looking back at Apollo.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll have to ask my commander,\u201d Apollo finally said.<\/p>\n

Mitchell nodded already thinking, he and Sam would go up leaving Teal\u2019c and Daniel on the planet to explore the structure.<\/p>\n

Apollo walked to the shuttle where Sheba waited along with the Wilker and his scientific crew. Beside him walked Mitchell and Sam, strange visitors who had come though something called a stargate.\u00a0 He couldn\u2019t wait for more information as they climbed aboard the shuttle.<\/p>\n

\u201cA ZPM!\u201d he heard Sam say causing everyone to look at her, but she was looking at the yellow device Wilker had picked up.<\/p>\n

\u201cZPM?\u201d Wilker asked as Apollo settled into a seat.<\/p>\n

\u201cZero Point Module, a power source created by the Ancients,\u201d she said. \u201cYou don\u2019t know what it is?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve never run across such technology before,\u201d Wilker said. \u201cAnd who are these Ancients?\u201d<\/p>\n

Apollo motioned for Sheba to lift off even as Sam and Wilker continued to talk about where they found it and how many were there.<\/p>\n

\u201cWas it lit up or dark?\u201d Sam asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cDark.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt must be depleted, we haven\u2019t figured out how to replicate it yet either,\u201d Sam said to him.<\/p>\n

They lifted off and headed towards the Galactica.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, you haven\u2019t encountered a stargate before? How long has your race been traveling among the stars?\u201d Mitchell asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor over a thousand yahrens,\u201d Apollo replied seeing a strange look on Mitchell\u2019s face and he realized he probably didn\u2019t know what a yahren was.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, then you probably know a lot of this galaxy, it\u2019s our first time here,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re from another galaxy?\u201d Apollo asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, stargates are heavily populated all over the universe,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you have spaceships?\u201d Apollo asked, wondering if everyone used these gates did they even have a need for ships.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a few, getting bigger all the time,\u201d Mitchell replied back.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo you came here to explore?\u201d Apollo asked even as another question came to his mind. \u201cYou\u2019re human?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSurprisingly humanity is spread though out the universe, but usually only where stargates are present,\u201d Mitchell replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur legends say there were thirteen tribes, from a planet called Kobal,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally, interesting,\u201d Mitchell replied.<\/p>\n

Apollo wondered what else they might have in common and where they actually came from.<\/p>\n

Mitchell glanced up out the window upon hearing they were approaching the Galactica. Looking out he felt a bit surprised to see so many ships of so many sizes.\u00a0 He then focused on one which seemed to have a unique look to it.\u00a0 He could see two massive hangars on the ship along with a massive thruster.<\/p>\n

\u201cHome sweet home,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the Galactica,\u201d Mitchell asked, impressed with the size. It was the size of a Gao\u2019uld mothership at least.\u00a0 The shuttle landed allowing them out and onto a very organized flight deck.\u00a0 Mitchell looked around seeing the crew working with efficiency he would expect to see back home on a carrier.<\/p>\n

He spotted a couple of people standing nearby and took in their appearance. One was an older gentleman with white hair and a blue uniform.<\/p>\n

\u201cWelcome aboard the Galactica, I\u2019m Commander Adama,\u201d the man said introducing himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cLt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell, this is Samantha Carter,\u201d Mitchell said introducing them both.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m told you\u2019re explorers from another galaxy,\u201d Adama said but also asked the question.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, we travel vast distances though the stargate,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaven\u2019t heard of a stargate,\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a device which creates a stable wormhole which can allow travel between two stargates using seven points, and when travelling to other galaxy\u2019s an eighth point is required,\u201d Sam said speaking up.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow about we sit down and talk,\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

Mitchell agreed and they were led into the ship even as he looked around. He noticed one thing which seemed strange to him.\u00a0 They appeared advanced yet primitive at the same time.\u00a0 It was an odd mix to have a group seem so advanced yet there was something he couldn\u2019t put his finger on.\u00a0 Looking over he spotted Sam looking around as well.<\/p>\n

They were led into a room and sat down. Adama excused himself for a second along with Apollo leaving them alone in the room.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou get the feeling something\u2019s off?\u201d Sam asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, not sure what though,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe technology seems too primitive,\u201d Sam said. \u201cAnd did you see the people in the hallways?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, not crewmembers that\u2019s for sure,\u201d Mitchell said wondering what they had stumbled into this time. He would have said more when Adama returned along with Apollo.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow did one of these stargates appear on this world if you are from another galaxy? Have you visited this galaxy before?\u201d Adama asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cActually, the stargates were created by a race we call the Ancients, and it seems they put them on many worlds, but the gate on the planet here is the only known gate in this entire galaxy,\u201d Samantha said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s good, it means the Cylons don\u2019t have access to it yet,\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCylons?\u201d Mitchell said perking up at this. It meant there was something here and from the tone not friendly.\u00a0 Their quest for allies might have ended before it began.<\/p>\n

\u201cA race which is now comprised entirely of machines, their only goal is to eliminate humanity,\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSound like wonderful people,\u201d Mitchell said sarcastically. \u201cDon\u2019t think we want to wait around to meet them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, they destroyed our entire civilization,\u201d Adama said shocking Mitchell and Samantha who shared another look.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese machines, surely they have a weakness? Like the replicators, some sort of electronic burst?\u201d Samantha asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are immune to such things, they\u2019ve become independent robots, each of them acting like we do,\u201d Adama said. \u201cThey are deadly and uncaring.\u00a0 They have no problem proposing a peace agreement and then attacking you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that what happened?\u201d Mitchell asked hearing that there was a story behind the words.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d been fighting them for a thousand yehrens before they asked for peace. Used a senator named Baltar, instead they used as a surprise attack on our fleet and sabotaged our defenses destroying our twelve homeworlds,\u201d Adama said.\u00a0 \u201cBillions died.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThen this fleet?\u201d Sam asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs all that remains of our civilization,\u201d Adama said. \u201cUntil now it was also assumed it was all that was left of the humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur galaxy is full of humans, as are many other galaxies,\u201d Sam said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thirteenth tribe?\u201d Apollo asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow did they get so far and numerous?\u201d Adama asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a long story, but it has to do with the Ancients, and the Gao\u2019uld,\u201d Sam said. \u201cIt\u2019s a story we don\u2019t know for sure.\u00a0 We think the Ancients were close to humans, and as a result took humans with them when they went to the other galaxies.\u00a0 As for the Gao\u2019uld, they used humans for worshippers, hosts, slaves and more.<\/p>\n

\u201cHosts?\u201d Adama asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Gao\u2019uld are parasites, they use a human host to live in and can extend their lives and abilities beyond a normal human, that and they wanted humans to worship them as gods,\u201d Sam said. \u201cThough we thought Earth was the homeworld for humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEarth?\u201d both Apollo and Adama said at the same time. Mitchell was slightly surprised at the reaction to the name, usually the name meant nothing to others and they had to use other names to get a reaction.\u00a0 \u201cThe thirteenth tribe!\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know of it?\u201d Mitchell asked, surprised.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thirteenth tribe and Earth is what we\u2019re trying to find, our last hope for survival,\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

Mitchell looked over at Sam and then back at them. \u201cThis is getting strange.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf humanity originated here why did the Ancients leave this galaxy alone?\u201d Sam asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d Mitchell said shielding his eyes as a sudden blinding white lite enveloped the entire room leaving him wondering what would happen next.<\/p>\n
