Part 1<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Apollo made his way towards the planet hoping to find something they might be able to use. They were approaching the edge of the galaxy and still had found nothing to indicate Earth was even close by.\u00a0 The planet seemed to support life according to the scans.\u00a0 He turned his viper to get a closer look to check it out followed by Starbuck but found nothing which indicated there might be any intelligent life on the planet.<\/p>\n

\u201cLooks like another bust,\u201d Starbuck said to him over the intercom.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we don\u2019t know that, there might be something we can use on the planet,\u201d Apollo stated unwilling to give up on the planet so easily and moved in for a closer look at the planet\u2019s surface.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, might get some food and water out of it,\u201d Starbuck said finally.<\/p>\n

\u201cSee, knew you might find something we could use,\u201d Apollo said, hoping they might find something as well. He wasn\u2019t sure how much further they could go before exiting the galaxy and doing that would prove deadly to the fleet.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t think any of the ships could manage such a long journey.<\/p>\n

Flying towards the planet he noticed his scanners were giving him an unusual reading, something he had yet to come across before while on a patrol. Taking some time to look again he noticed that he was getting some strange energy readings as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarbuck, you read that?\u201d Apollo asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, not sure what it is,\u201d Starbuck replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s head down and investigate,\u201d Apollo said switching over to contact the Galactica to inform them they were investigating a promising planet and some sort of strange energy reading from the scanners. Flying down into the atmosphere he got a shock.\u00a0 He noticed what appeared to be a building of some sort, a large dome shape which was very different than the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou see that?\u201d Starbuck asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, let\u2019s head down to check it out,\u201d Apollo said not seeing anything else around which would indicate anymore buildings or any sort.<\/p>\n

He flew around one more time but that was the only object which looked unnatural.<\/p>\n

\u201cGalactica this is patrol one,\u201d Apollo said waiting a second for the Galactia to reply.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrol one, this Core Command,\u201d he heard Rigel\u2019s voice say.<\/p>\n

\u201cInform the commander we\u2019ve spotted something on the planet\u2019s surface and will be investigating,\u201d Apollo stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnderstood,\u201d Rigel said.<\/p>\n

Apollo turned the viper and landed in a clearing not far away along with Starbuck.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you think?\u201d Starbuck asked as they moved towards the building looking for an entrance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know,\u201d Starbuck replied as they approached.<\/p>\n

The dome appeared almost solid but they quickly found what appeared to be a door and made their way inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoa,\u201d Starbuck said as they looked around the inside. There were several rooms and the level of technology required indicated a high level of technology.\u00a0 Apollo had never seen anything quite like it and continued on into the room until he found what appeared to be a control room.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t seen anyone, you?\u201d Starbuck asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, and it looks like no one is here,\u201d Apollo said looking at the fact the tables appeared to be covered.<\/p>\n

Pulling one back he noticed what appeared to be some sort of strange computer interface, something he had not expected at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach room is programmed to light up as we enter,\u201d Starbuck said as he entered another room. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to see this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apollo tore his attention away from the computer and headed to the next room, which was the largest he had been in yet. The focus was a large ring sitting upright and several tables nearby.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you think this is?\u201d Starbuck asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo idea, but the power readings have increased since we entered the building,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s abandoned,\u201d Starbuck said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s my guess,\u201d Apollo replied unsure of what else it might mean. He looked around some more but found the complex, while a bit large, had no one inside nor any idea who might have built it.\u00a0 \u201cLet\u2019s head back, maybe my father will allow an expedition down here with Wilker.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOkay,\u201d Starbuck said, as they moved back towards the exit and to their vipers.<\/p>\n

Adama sat listening to Apollo describe the building he and Starbuck explored. He had never heard of anything like this before either and had to agree it might be worth checking out as well.\u00a0 They could do it while checking out the water and food.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, I\u2019ll inform Doctor Wilker of the mission,\u201d Adama said knowing the man probably would jump at the chance to explore this technology as he always did. Their last encounter with another technology had him excited for days.\u00a0 \u201cBut I\u2019ll also want a security team down there as well.\u00a0 Someone built it and we don\u2019t want to be surprised.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWonder if they were destroyed by the Cylons?\u201d Starbuck said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t know, but the technology looks anything but Cylon,\u201d Apollo replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother thing Wilker can check out,\u201d Adama said, knowing that he had an extensive knowledge on how Cylons worked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll get the team together, might need more than one shuttle,\u201d Apollo stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cWon\u2019t be a problem,\u201d Adama said, watching as the both rose and left the room. He then went in search of Wilker, who usually spent most of his time in his lab.\u00a0 It didn\u2019t take long for him to find the man working on something in the lab which he might hope would help the fleet.\u00a0 These days they spent their time trying to make the current engines more efficient.<\/p>\n

\u201cAh, commander, welcome,\u201d Wilker said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDoctor, our patrols found something they think you might like to investigate,\u201d Adama said watching as the man\u2019s eyes lit up with that thought.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeems like there was some sort of abandoned building on the planet which has some impressive technology,\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat type of technology?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cApollo said he never encountered anything like it before,\u201d Adama said seeing that Wilker was now extremely interested in learning about this new technology. \u201cTheir putting together a team, including one for food and water right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I\u2019ll be ready, how much time do I have?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have time, they haven\u2019t contacted the biology department yet,\u201d Adama said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow many people can I take?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ll be taking two shuttles, I can have one for you and the other for the biologics,\u201d Adama said thinking that might be the best way to do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be quick in my preparations,\u201d Wilker said.<\/p>\n

General Landry made his way into the room for another briefing. Already in there were Daniel and Samantha who were waiting for him along with a few others who were part of the Stargate Command and a Tok\u2019ra who he wasn\u2019t familiar with.\u00a0 The Tok\u2019ra was a bald man who reminded Landry of Teal\u2019c who was away at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo what do we owe the honor of the Tok\u2019ra visiting us?\u201d Landry asked sitting down.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am Gareld,\u201d he said in his Tok\u2019ra voice. \u201cWe\u2019ve uncovered something unusual that we think you might want to be aware of.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not another enemy?\u201d Landry said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo sir, we\u2019ve looked it over, it appeared to be stargate addresses, more specifically ones which are outside of our galaxy,\u201d Sam replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd there was an unusual address that we found,\u201d Daniel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnusual how?\u201d Landry asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that stargates exist on many other galaxies,\u201d Gerald said, something Landry did know. \u201cThis seems to be a massive directory of addresses for gates for several other galaxies, but this one address is the only one for this galaxy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly one?\u201d Landry said, thinking he was starting to understand what they meant.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seemed the Ancients were keeping track of the worlds they put stargates on, and it\u2019s a lot, but for all the addresses only this one galaxy had one gate address, the others have as many as our galaxy,\u201d Daniel said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd you want to investigate it?\u201d Landry said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to know why, it might be an outpost, or they found another race, it could be a good first contact situation,\u201d Sam said.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst contacts and us haven\u2019t seem to be doing so well lately,\u201d Landry said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t want another Atlantis or Ori thing to happen,\u201d Landry said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt won\u2019t sir, we worked on a way around that,\u201d Sam said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve found a few ZPMs which we can hook up to the gate for a quick return,\u201d Daniel said. \u201cWe might not even need it, whoever is on the other end might have the technology to return us back home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSir, a small team could be there and back,\u201d Sam said. \u201cIt also could help, especially if we find new allies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Landry thought about that for several seconds. \u201cAll right, get SG-1 together and we\u2019ll send a MALP though and only if you are 100% certain you can return will we authorize the mission.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou won\u2019t regret is sir,\u201d Sam said sounding excited by the opportunity to go.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope I so,\u201d Landry said.<\/p>\n

He watched as they left knowing they had gathered a few ZPMs in the hope to explore the other galaxies and find new allies. They had to start somewhere.\u00a0 He only hoped the Ancients hadn\u2019t stopped their planting gates in the galaxy for some dangerous reason.<\/p>\n

Standing he made his way over to look at the gate seeing the gate activate, right on time for Teal\u2019cs return back to the SGC.\u00a0\u00a0 He came through the gate and Landry hoped his mission was successful as well.\u00a0 They still needed the Jaffa as their allies and not enemies.<\/p>\n

It felt strange to be in command of one of the most powerful groups in the universe, yet no one on his planet knew it was even going on. They had built up a small fleet of ships, explored hundreds of planets, fought wars and managed to keep it secret.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear we\u2019ve got a new mission?\u201d Mitchell said entering the room.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, another galaxy,\u201d Landry said.<\/p>\n

\u201cUm, isn\u2019t that dangerous, I mean getting back,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSam and Daniel have promised me you can return easily,\u201d Landry said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo offense, but they\u2019ve been wrong before,\u201d Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know, but they wouldn\u2019t lie about this,\u201d Landry replied back to him, watching as he thought about it for a few seconds. \u201cWhere\u2019s Vala?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cStill hasn\u2019t returned,\u201d Mitchell said. \u201cSomething about needing to do something.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHope she isn\u2019t causing trouble,\u201d Landry said, knowing the last thing they needed was get involved in something she had done.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

Starbuck walked around the building along with Boomer as they looked at everything around them. The construction was unlike anything either of them had ever seen before.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat do you think?\u201d Starbuck asked, not having a clue who might built the building.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo idea, and no idea why they built it,\u201d Boomer replied. \u201cIt\u2019s got no defenses, except the shield around it which seems to have protected it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s got no scanners, no nothing that I can tell,\u201d Starbuck said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOr what its power source is,\u201d Boomer said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the weird thing,\u201d Starbuck said agreeing with his friend. There appeared to be no known power source for the building or why it was still active.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarbuck,\u201d Apollo\u2019s voice said over the intercom.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah,\u201d Starbuck replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cCome on back to the main room, Wilker found something, I want you and Boomer there as well,\u201d Apollo said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn our way,\u201d Starbuck said heading back to the main room, the one with the strange disk. He found Wilker and Apollo waiting for him in the room.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, what\u2019s up?\u201d Boomer asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ve found the power source, and its incredible,\u201d Wilker said moving off to one of the side rooms, down a hallway and finally into a small room. \u201cThis thing,\u201d he said pointing to a small disk in the ground.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat?\u201d Boomer said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNotice there are three here, one isn\u2019t lit, but it comes out like this,\u201d Wilker said, pushing it and out came a yellow cylindrical object. \u201cWhoever they were they were advanced.\u00a0 I think I can take this one back and study it, perhaps figure it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apollo had to agree, if they could produce something which give this power it would be an advance for the fleet unlike anything they ever had seen before. And no one else around, it made sense.<\/p>\n

\u201cCaptain?\u201d a voice said. \u201cWe\u2019re about done here, need to get back to run the rest of the tests.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, we\u2019re headed back to the shuttles as well,\u201d Apollo said then looked over at Wilker, \u201cTake it with us then.\u201d<\/p>\n

They headed towards the exit and stopped. Starbuck thought he heard something when they reached the door, something mechanical inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou hear that?\u201d Starbuck said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah,\u201d Apollo replied back. \u201cWilker, you and your team head back to the shuttle, we\u2019ll check it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Starbuck had a feeling he would be headed back in, and taking a breath headed back into the building where he heard a new sound, something he couldn\u2019t quite place.<\/p>\n

\u201cBe careful,\u201d Apollo said, drawing his blaster.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t have to tell me twice,\u201d Starbuck said, drawing his own blaster and headed inside again.<\/p>\n
