The Cimalian Princess: Rebellion<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Part 25<\/p>\n

Dave made his way to the meeting point as Greg instructed. He wondered if the mysterious contact would even be there this time. He made his way on over and leaned up against the wall in a dark area looking around to make sure no one else was around. It seemed awfully quiet at the moment, even more so than usual.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re late,\u201d the voice said causing him to jump slightly not expecting her so soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeen busy,\u201d Dave finally replied to be greeted with a chuckle.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings are heating up quickly, we must move now,\u201d the voice said to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat?\u201d Dave asked unsure about this.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeia\u2019s little military has been spotted, you\u2019ve run out of time,\u201d the reply came back. \u201cNow is the time to move.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not even close to ready,\u201d Dave said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAssault the palace only, that\u2019s all that\u2019s needed, and you have friends in the palace,\u201d the reply came back.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd how will we know whose friendly?\u201d Dave asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cSimple, they will be wearing a blue armband,\u201d the answer came back.<\/p>\n

Dave thought about it for a few seconds wondering if he could actually believe this or not. It seemed to simple to him. \u201cWon\u2019t the Emperor notice?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s too focused on Meia right now, he doesn\u2019t noticed it right now,\u201d she replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, you\u2019re saying some of the guards are already wanting change?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey know the truth about the emperor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dave considered that, true if Meia was the true heir she was the rightful ruler. The guards were trained to be loyal to the emperor, or empress.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, will they know when we attack?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best times are sunup and down,\u201d the voice said. \u201cThat\u2019s when most of the loyal troops are on duty, they will help out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll let the resistance know,\u201d Dave said. \u201cThey wear a blue armband?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt represents Meia\u2019s hair color, they are waiting to help out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope so, cause if you say we\u2019re out of time, we\u2019re going to need all the help we can get,\u201d Dave said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen you better hurry, you need to attack tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dave turned and headed back to the house to speak with Greg and hoped he could come up with something in such a short time.<\/p>\n

Meia sat down along with the rest of the command staff, and the other ship captains who had logged in from their ships. She spotted Yvette who was on the screen waiting to hear what the news was. Meia recalled her from her time on board the Akagi during the invasion even as Randy walked in and sat down to start the meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you all for attenting, we need to discuss thing quickly,\u201d Randy said to them. \u201cWe have a large problem that most of you know about, the Cimalians probably know where we are, and I just recently received word from our contact on Cimalius that the Emperor does know we\u2019re here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meia\u2019s eyebrows rose at that bit of news, something she had not expected at all.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt appears their contact in the palace gave them that bit of information, and that some of the guards are loyal to Meia, and that she is the true ruler.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meia still had a hard time believing that but stayed quiet at the moment listening to what else he had learned. She had time to make her unease known about this.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve planned a simple assault with General Porkins, with the main, and only objective being the palace and the Emperor. The fleet\u2019s job is to prevent the military from helping in the battle and providing a path for the ground forces,\u201d Randy said to them. \u201cThe shuttles will head on down, Meia will be flying her fighter down and be part of the lead group, we think if she heads down first they won\u2019t expect that. They will be thinking she\u2019ll head down in later shuttles or already be on the surface.\u201d<\/p>\n

With this a map appeared in the center of the room allowing everyone to look on.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe battle-cruisers will set up a perimeter around the space above the planet, the troops arriving will help out the resistance and be under the command of Lieutenant Meia,\u201d Randy said. \u201cAccording to the information we have the Emperor is in this area of the palace, the resistance will try and capture these two points which we can land at and use as staging areas. Once those are secure its only a matter of time to find the Emperor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are we do to if we find him,\u201d Frank Jorkins asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cMeia?\u201d Randy said turning to her looking for the answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell,\u201d Meia replied having to think quickly. \u201cI doubt you\u2019ll be able to take him alive, but if you can do so. He\u2019ll need to stand trial for his deeds against the Empire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meia understood the risk they took taking him alive, but had some ideas if she was to take over and he could be useful. She noticed Randy\u2019s eyes held a look that he didn\u2019t quite agree with her but said nothing else to counter her order.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, now the Akagi will take up a position here,\u201d Randy said as a spot lit up on the map. \u201cThe Warspite, Hood and Bismarck will take up position here, here, and here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meia watched as Randy positioned the fleet to maximize the defensive abilities of the fleet. She knew the goal and despite what she said, her goal was to kill her uncle and lead the empire the way her father would have, or so she hoped.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

Jack rubbed his eyes before looking over at the clock. \u201cNo wonder I\u2019m so tired,\u201d he said to himself. \u201cTen till midnight, Mary\u2019s going to kill me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He turned to activate the screen when Chad\u2019s face appeared on the screen. The young lieutenant looked as tired as Jack felt.<\/p>\n

\u201cChad, go home and get some rest,\u201d Jack ordered the young man.<\/p>\n

\u201cSir, this just appeared on the news,\u201d Chad stated. Jack watched as the screen changed to a video of a report as the two senators who continued to hound Jack appeared on the screen talking to reporters about how the military had a fleet including two battel-cruisers ready to invade the Cimalian Empire.<\/p>\n

\u201cHades,\u201d Jack said getting back to Chad. \u201cGet me Senator Amy Barnes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSir, that\u2019s not all, \u201c Chad said, as he walked into the room and ended the conversation on the communicator, his face disappearing from the screen as Jack looked on. \u201cWe received word from the Strike Fleet that they\u2019ve been spotted for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHades, this night keeps getting worse,\u201d Jack said rubbing his temples from a headache which seemed to threaten to appear. \u201cWhat\u2019s their plans?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are going ahead with the attack, in,\u201d Chad looked down at the time, \u201cin two hours.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGreat, and we have two senators who are going to blow the entire thing. Well, nothing we can do about this now,\u201d Jack said knowing he couldn\u2019t recall the fleet now, not at this point.<\/p>\n

\u201cSir, Amy Barnes is ready for you,\u201d Chad said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPut her on,\u201d he said as Amy\u2019s face appeared.<\/p>\n

\u201cI take it you\u2019ve seen,\u201d Amy said right away.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah,\u201d Jack replied drily. \u201cThey were the ones who kept digging and asking questions about the battle-cruisers. How did they, wait a second, the fleet was only sighted not long ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you thinking they are connected with the Cimalian Empire, that\u2019s quite a charge,\u201d Amy said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, but how else could they know where the fleet was? It was sighted by a Cimalian ship, not anything from the Alliance,\u201d Jack stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cHang on, that gives me an idea, good thing I\u2019ve already called a press conference as well,\u201d Amy said as Jack winced. \u201cOh, don\u2019t worry, I\u2019ll handle everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

The screen went black before he could say anything else. Deciding to contact Mary as he felt this night was far from over.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey,\u201d Jack said when Mary answered, she looked a bit sleepy.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey soldier boy, something\u2019s wrong isn\u2019t there,\u201d Mary replied before he said anything else.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou could say that,\u201d Jack replied back to her. \u201cI\u2019m going to be burning the midnight oil for sure tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, this is it then,\u201d Mary said surprising him. \u201cEverything\u2019s to be decided in the next couple of hours.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jack didn\u2019t say anything knowing his wife\u2019s abilities for sometimes seeing the future, or at a least knowing when things were going to happen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll see you when this is all over,\u201d Mary said. \u201cI love you\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLove you too,\u201d Jack said ending the conversation before looking up at Chad who was waiting.<\/p>\n

\u201cSir?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGet everyone on duty, call them in, I have a feeling things are about to get worse,\u201d Jack said. \u201cThen order some coffee, tea, snacks to the command center and tell them I\u2019ll be there shortly.\u201d<\/p>\n

He watched Chad nod before heading out of the office to carry out the orders. Jack stretched wondering just how this night would go, and how bad would it get.<\/p>\n

*****<\/p>\n

Greg looked over the group in front of him and considered the last communications from Meia which wasn\u2019t good and neither had been the information Dave gave him. Now in his office was more people than he liked and had a feeling Liam knew something was going on. He had managed to keep his servant away from everything even as the group in front of him considered the situation as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you sure about this?\u201d one person asked. Greg wasn\u2019t sure about the man but he no longer could be cautious.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have reliable information that the Emperor knows Meia is the true heir, daughter of Boris, and is worried about her taking the throne from him. That\u2019s our mission, to get her into that position,\u201d Greg said to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cSeems too quick for me,\u201d another man said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, um,\u201d Greg said, hoping to get the man\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrank.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFrank, we don\u2019t have time to organize anything else. We either go now with what we have or never. Which do you want?\u201d Greg asked waiting for the answer from the man. He noticed he looked over at Ewa before replying.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll right, I\u2019ve made some bad choices lately, guess its time I actually do something,\u201d Frank replied back.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat are you proposing?\u201d Terry asked turning the conversation to the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to move quickly, pick up anyone you can who might help and head to the palace,\u201d Greg said picking up a map. \u201cWe\u2019ll meet here, I have information that some of the guards are willing to join our side.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat worries me,\u201d Terry said honestly. \u201cPalace guards are extremely loyal to the emperor, why would they be willing to go against him?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe knowledge that Meia is the rightful ruler could be enough,\u201d Dave said.<\/p>\n

\u201cStill, I think we should be cautious,\u201d Terry replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I understand that caution, but when Meia and her forces arrive things will change very quickly,\u201d Greg said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou think she has the forces to do this?\u201d Frank asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes I do,\u201d Greg answered back.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, the simple matter is it doesn\u2019t matter what we do, help or watch, this is going to happen. Which side do you want to be on? I don\u2019t like the idea of sitting on the side while someone else fights for a better life for us all,\u201d Greg said to them. \u201cAre we going to help or sit on the sidelines?\u201d<\/p>\n

He looked around for their reactions. Ewa appeared calm, Frank and Terry were nervous and a few others seemed ready to head out, like Dave. A few others looked scared but nodded they were with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI suggest we get moving, can\u2019t wait much longer,\u201d Dave said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to agree, guess we go now,\u201d Terry said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll meet you all at the area, bring as many people as you can as quickly as possible,\u201d Greg said. The group left the house and now he had one thing left to do. He went in search of his servant.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there anything else you need sir?\u201d Liam asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, take the rest of the day off Liam, tomorrow will be a new day,\u201d Greg said to him even as he headed towards the door wondering what the morning would bring.<\/p>\n
