Ephiny and the Battle for the Amazons<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

Part 6<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Eph glanced over at Queen Melosa and Princess Valaska before looking over to where her mother and Eponin stood next to her. She watched Gabrielle make her way down the center in her new \u2018Amazon\u2019 outfit.\u00a0 It consisted of a simple skirt, a bit too short in Eph\u2019s opinion, and several necklaces which covered Gabrielle\u2019s breasts.\u00a0 An armband and wristband revealed her position within the Nation.\u00a0 The outfit had been a source of debate, mostly due to Gabrielle\u2019s stubbornness.<\/p>\n

Gabrielle stopped in front of Melosa as every watched on.<\/p>\n

\u201cGabrielle, tonight, among your sisters and allies you shall become a part of our family. Who here will accept Gabrielle into their family?\u201d Melosa asked, despite already knowing the answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will,\u201d Eph said, stepping forward along with her mother and Eponin.<\/p>\n

A family is willing, are there any challenges to either the family or the adoption of Gabrielle into the Nation, Melosa said.<\/p>\n

Now Eph waited, nervous, hoping no one would challenge anything. The silence stretched out for several heartbeats until finally Melosa stepped forward to continue the ceremony.<\/p>\n

A flash of light caused Eph to close her eyes, blinking them open she noticed not one, but two figures standing in front of them. She quickly recognized the beautiful, scantily-clad woman as Aphrodite and the other woman, dressed in leather, she had seen in her dream, Artemis.<\/p>\n

Both goddess walked over to stand behind Eph, causing her nerves to double. She had no idea what might happen next.<\/p>\n

\u201cI announce the newest member of the Amazon nation, Princess Gabrielle,\u201d Artemis said, her voice ringing though the crowd. She turned taking the mask which would be Gabrielle\u2019s and turned.\u00a0 Eph noticed a slight change in the mask as Artemis handled it before standing in front of Gabrielle.\u00a0 \u201cI now crown you a princess of the Amazon nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eph watched as Artemis turned, giving a smile to Melosa and Valaska. The Conqueror appeared focused on someone else, not the two goddesses in the front, but someone else in the crowd.\u00a0 Eph looked back and thought she noticed a man standing in the shadows and looked slightly familiar, tall dark-haired and looking back at them.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, let\u2019s party,\u201d Artemis said, breaking Eph\u2019s train of thought.<\/p>\n

She turned ass the assembled group excitedly began to talk about what happened as she noticed her mother\u2019s stunned expression as she stood there next to the two goddesses.<\/p>\n

\u201cUm, guess I forgot to mention that Gabrielle is Aphrodite\u2019s Chose,\u201d Eph said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou both knew?\u201d her mother asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I guessed correctly when we were in Corinth,\u201d Eph replied.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I guess I gained a talented daughter,\u201d her mother finally said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIsn\u2019t this exciting!\u201d Aphrodite said. \u201cSo much energy, I love this.\u00a0 I\u2019ll have to get Artie to allow me to more of these parties.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ephiny looked out at the crowd understanding what Aphrodite meant.<\/p>\n

\u201cThought I saw someone who looked like Ares,\u201d Eph finally said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was keeping an eye on his daughter, even if they don\u2019t get along,\u201d Aphrodite said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbout killed him to ask me for permission,\u201d Artemis replied.<\/p>\n

Ephiny realized that the Nation was protected from interference by other gods by Artemis before heading to the group seeing Jana along with the Centaur Marcus. Off to one side she noticed Bele standing next to another Centaur.<\/p>\n

\u201cBele is the one who is pregnant,\u201d Eponin stated.<\/p>\n

Ephiny\u2019s eyebrows went up at that statement and she wondered if she would have a boy, a girl or a Centaur and noticed Gabrielle and the Conqueror walking towards them.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrincess,\u201d Eph said, giving a small nod towards the Conqueror.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was different,\u201d Gabrielle said indicating the ceremony. \u201cI\u2019m glad you accepted the assignment to Corinth.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou poor women, have no idea what you\u2019re about to get mixed up into,\u201d the Conqueror said, laughing as Gabrielle nudged her in the ribs and turning to see Aphrodite walking towards them.<\/p>\n

\u201cAphrodite, I didn\u2019t know you were coming,\u201d Gabrielle stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd miss an event like this and an Amazon festival? Like, I wouldn\u2019t miss this for anything,\u201d Aphrodite replied.\u00a0 \u201cMore wanted to come, but Ares limited the number so it wouldn\u2019t overwhelm people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly you were allowed?\u201d Gabrielle asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe couldn\u2019t have stopped me,\u201d Aphrodite replied back to them.<\/p>\n

\u201cAres stood in the back watching everything,\u201d the Conqueror said, somehow not surprising Ephiny that she knew he was there. \u201cGood thing he told me beforehand so I wouldn\u2019t so anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that why you were so tense earlier,\u201d Gabrielle stated and Eph noticed the soft touch Gabrielle gave the Conqueror at the mention of Ares\u2019 name. \u201cAnd here I thought you might be tense over this presentation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNah, as long as I know, and I can see where you are I know where trouble is,\u201d the Conqueror replied back.<\/p>\n

\u201cKeep it Xena,\u201d Gabrielle said, glaring at her.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly speaking the truth, they\u2019ll learn,\u201d the Conqueror bantered back looking at Ephiny and Eponin.<\/p>\n

Eph had a feeling she would learn about all of this, but until then they had a festival to attend. She knew tomorrow her life would change again, but tonight she could have some fun and dragged a reluctant Eponin into the dance going on, surprised when Gabrielle did the same with the Conqueror.<\/p>\n

For now, life was good.<\/p>\n
